So not sure what happened here. I replaced the trap door assembly, since the old one had the stopper part on the bracket broke off, so the door was eating into the playfield. I put the new bracket on, and the coil seems like its lacking the power to open the door. There doesnt appear to be any extra resistance on the door, and the coil shows 72v, so it seems to have power. the sleeve is clean and aligned, and all the other parts are working properly. Any ideas what would cause a sudden loss of oomph?

Checked that the coil isnt trying to energize the entire frame. Ground is good, voltage is good at the coil on all stubs, even when power is being applied. Maybe one of the coil wires lifted from the unit, checking that next.

Replaced the A-20099 coil, and the trap door still wouldnt come all the way up. My only conclusion is the new bracket has the coil sitting too high, which is causing the coil to have difficulties pulling the rod into place. The fix was to remove the spring on the bottom of the coil, which solved the problem.
