For our upcoming exhibition (news soon), we'll likely be handing out a free token to everyone. However, if someone wants to play a little more, we want to set up a card card based vendor. The location doesn't want to deal with cash.

So we are looking at the American Changer AC2006: https://americanchanger.com/products/ac2006-front-load-banknote-changer

It operates with a Nayax reader. Interestingly, apparently it just shows as Nayax as the vendor on the credit card receipt. I'm sure a few people will see it and forget what it was for and think it was a bogus charge. Um...

Does anyone have any experience with token dispensers?

Are there any alternatives to American Changer that people like?

With Nayax?

Thanks in advance.

Yup...that happens. And I'm not quite yet done posting. A lot of this is that 'putting a couple games somewhere' came together on relatively short notice, so there is a lot going on in a short amount of time. I agreed because it should be a great opportunity to promote this site and our preservation efforts here. While it should get a good crowd, it's not a lot of machines. So its sort of like a bike with training wheels, helping me to prepare for something grander down the road.

Sounds more like a bottle rocket w/ training wheels... :)

Hope the expedition is a great success, and of course you have the best support group in the world here behind you. There is no better resource anywhere...

Many of the change machines can also dispense 0.984" and 0.955" tokens in place of quarters. Some may also have the ability to calibrate/tune the machine to a specific token size that isn't as close to a quarter as the sizes mentioned. I've had to pick up a few change machines over the last year for locations I'm operating in. The newest model is a Seaga CM1250 which is certainly not high end and has its skeptics but has been reliable for me so far. Takes new $5, $10, and $20. I also have an American AC1001 which is probably from the early 2000's. Its much more robust but alot more $ when new. Old models might also not accept newer $5, $10 and $20 unless the DBV has been updated. I have another very old model I can't even recall the name of. Works great but I swapped in a Mars DBV that accepts new denominations. Be sure to pay attention to voltage requirements when swapping DBV units and other peripherals. They can be 110v, 24v, 32v I think.
