I just bought a lot of almost 2,000 tokens for $30.
It was interesting the mix I got.

Curious if other people have pics of the variety found.
For those that use tokens, do you clean them? If so, what cleaner do you use?

Throw them in a rock tumbler with crushed walnut shell media and let it run for a day or two. They come out perfect.

if you happen to have any tokens from wienerschnitzel that you would part with I'm looking for one. I had one once but have no idea where it went.

I use tokens in the arcade and have 1000's as well. I polish them with a vibration tumbler and walnut media. Works pretty well! As for polish I use Brasso I believe. Makes em nice and shiny!!

This is the vibration tumbler I use:

Oh, and I polish pinball parts in the machine as well. Chrome, balls, any hardware thats seen on playfield.

Along these same lines, I would pay happily for a token from Gadgets.

I've used Brasso on a few tokens, and they did turn out looking great. Problem was, they tarnished again in a matter of weeks. Anyone know of a way to keep them shiny? A clear coat? Lacquer? Polyurethane?

I want to make a wall display with some tokens in it, but I'd like them to stay looking good.

My question...can you re-take this pic on say, a solid black background? This would make a sweet wallpaper, even if converted to b&w!

That's a pretty awesome assortment you have there!

I just have a small bag of tokens that say "Namco" on them and have a picture of Pacman. That's all I have. don't even have a clue where they came from! LOL.

Edit: I want a copy of the wallpaper pic, too!

very cool... i'll have to get a single of each design and take a picture like that...

here's some before and after pics of the first batch of tokens i bought in my effort to set my games to run on them

they were painted with something pretty tough before '83... i soaked them in a can with lacquer thinner for a few days, rotating it whenever i could... got most of the paint off eventually

then i ran them for 20 hours in a vib tumbler with walnut shell media (that doesn't have much rouge left in it as its worn out and i'm cheap)

they look flippin awesome... when i get in the next 1200 or so i've ordered i'll be doing the same...

(all .984s, lots of generics and "Max Sportsters" where i worked as a teenager in the 90s, and then maybe 2 dozen or so unique ones... besides the MS ones and CeC ones i had before, these came from a small arcade that closed in '83 and didn't have their own tokens so they painted all these random ones)
