Heres an idea Ive had for a while and seem to have alot of interest in.
and with the help of Jamie and his team of super squirrels. its now online!
A BIG thanks to Jamie for implenting a few new codes to make this simple and easy for everyone.

So heres how it works:
Step 1: Add all the item(s) you wish to purchase to your cart.

Step 2: Add the Layaway product to your cart (its a $5 fee item on the Gift Card/Laway category page) http://www.thisoldgame.com/products/layaway-fee-5

Step 3: Proceed to checkout. and Enter in all your contact info, Ship address, email, etc.

Step 4: Click Place layaway order. Thats basically it.

You can then make paypal payments whenever youd like and In ANY Amount
(gift preffered) and with each payment you make you'll get an updated invoice via email.

This should work out great for everyone and is good for anything on the website including any preorders on the site.

open for suggestions or if anyone runs into any technical issues let me know.

I like it. Now, just repro every piece of screened art on Zoo Keeper and I'll be using this :)

Thats a nice feature. More people should offer layaway when possible!

Is there a time limit (I think KMart used to say 12 months)?

Im pretty flexible on this but I do have it on the site at
Layaway contracts are 3 Months.
For purchases greater than $500, a 6 Month option is also available

Sorry, guess I should go read the site!

Thanks

How will this work for limited runs? Will you set one aside until it's paid off?

I might finally be able to get into the T-shirt of the month club now...

yes it will be set aside.
this way anyone who needs an item that dosnt have the funds at the time wont miss out.
or if they are just waiting on another piece to get finished
as I usally tend to sell out of it, in the meantime.

Tshirts same way on some of those XXLs and XXXLs.

And for Preoreders this is also great.
As at least I know Ive got X # of people really interrested in
but only have at the time or wish to put in X amouont $$ untill that product is ready.

I notice that the Layaway fee is $5, but how much is the cancellation fee? Does it depend on the amount that you have on layaway?

Layaway=Awesome!

Rich,
This is great! I just placed a layaway order and sent a payment. Is there anyway to assign an order # to the order that we could reference in the subject line when sending a payment via PayPal?

Thanks again!
Jeremy

All Order get a regular order # and show up on your invoice as normal.

I see the number in my email now. I did not see one on the confirmation order page. My apologies.

I can't express how much I appreciate you doing this. I have been wanting to purchase items from you for awhile and now this helps me get what I need within my budget. I think this will definitely translate into more business for you. I know you have mine.

Thanks for the early Christmas gift and keep up the good work!

Happy Holidays!
Jeremy

Has this worked properly for anybody else that's used this? I put in an order and paid an initial amount, but did not receive an updated invoice. I'm ready to pay off the balance, but wanted to make sure my initial payment was put toward my purchase. I've hit up Rikitiki via PM here, but haven't received a response. I'll hit up their sales email with the same inquiry, but was just wondering if it was working for everybody else.

I had the same issue. The first couple of payments were confirmed via email and the next two were not. I emailed them at [email protected] and they confirmed that my payments were received. I wanted to make sure they received it before making the last payment. After the last payment part of my order arrived in 2-3 days. Just be sure to reference your order # in the subject line of your email.

not sure why you didnt get a confirmation on last payment
but yes definatly a word of advise when sending the paypal payment
PLEASE put your order number in the subject or the comments section.

Also email confirmations will usally go to the same email addy used from payment
so if you use a different address for payments and checking email thats also been an issue.
Unless your allready following up directly with me through email or PM as reference.

checking on your layaway witchboard PM sent

But if anybody is having any other isses or suggestions please LMK.
Im working on adding the balance into your account status as well
so you should be able to check that anytime.
