Picked up a Mr. Do back in May with known chassis issues. Unfortunately, the 100v power cable was MIA when it arrived home and tonight I "finally" got around to reinstalling it and seeing for myself what is happening...

1) No neck glow...
2) Then neck glow w/ vertical collapse (vertical line) then no neck glow...

This was Kevin's (Gravitars) machine at one time and it appears that he never got it up and running...

I've got a Mr. Do cab with the stock toei monitor, has vert. collapse. capkit didn't help. It used an IC for vert. deflection that AFAIK is obsolete and unavailable.

Where should I start? Thought about just tossing in a 8-liner chassis in there but would like to try to save it first... The tube is perfect so it's worth getting this baby up and running.

Let's start by moving this to the Monitors sub section of the forum.

Well, you've probably got a couple vertical deflection transistors (I am assuming this is like most monitors). I'd check those.....and yes, next would be the deflection IC. Also, check for any bad solder joints/cracks.....or caps installed backwards. The handful of old school Toei monitors I've worked on......everything is crammed in there with the silk screened designators haphazardly/confusingly printed on top of the pcb.
