NEW TODD TUCKEY'S EXPLANATION of his Cabaret/Mini Collection Sale

92 cabarets so I wonder what the Offer I Can't Refuse amount is? I'm gonna guess $100K would definitely make paying for college a lot easier. ;)

Thank for posting Todd. I remember you sold your Big Bang Bar to fund your daughter's college, this must just be the next phase. Wishing you and your business well. I always enjoy your videos, cheese and all!

Thanks Todd, I sold you some games in the 2000's including a Robotron mini that you had in your collection at one time. I still love the mini's and have 4 in my basement.

Thanks for the update Todd!

The great thing about selling that many games is the fact that now you have space to buy more games! Yeah, I know....something is wrong with me...as you know this hobby does that to you :)

Thanks for the update Todd! Looks like they're going for a good cause and to good homes. Love your channel and keep up the great work!

To mimic what everyone has already said, it's great to hear the real life stories of collectors and especially those like Todd who have been and continue to be so influential in this hobby and an inspiration to many, myself included. And although my oldest is still years from college, I certainly understand the costs of college and can only imagine what tuition will cost in 10 years. Your games will certainly live on and I'm sure stay in the community for years to come. Thanks again for all of your hard work and dedication and awesome videos!

I vaguely remember hearing about Todd starting the cabaret collection for his daughter... so it makes sense that he'd sell them after his kids have grown.

My daughter is 7 now and there's already a few machines I'm only hanging on to because she enjoys them.

My daughter is 7 now and there's already a few machines I'm only hanging on to because she enjoys them.

My daughter is also 7 and she enjoys a lot of the games offered on the Arcade SD (especially Dig Dug 1 and 2, Jungle Hunt, Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man/Super Pac Man, and now, out of nowhere, Mappy). I have two cabarets set up side-by-side (one with the Arcade SD installed, with the other cab being a Pac-Man's Arcade Party), and we play together for hours (sometimes the same title on different machines). Admittedly when I bought the second cabaret and dumped the 60-in-1 that it came with for the SD, I never thought my daughter would show the level of interest that she has so far...but she LOVES these old games. She asks me almost every day when can we go downstairs and play? I love it.

As much as I've always thought I'd never ever sell them...I think if/when she outgrows them (her Daddy sure didn't) or eventually moves out to be on her own, I might consider it. In a way the fact that she wouldn't be doing that with me anymore would probably be a little sad. But that's another worry for another day...if anything, it would be very cool to GIVE her one of the cabs someday...if she wanted one.

what's that... ? the 3 original buyers fell-through?
you don't say ?!?!?

Todd your website was the first thing I found a year and a half ago when I started collecting arcades. Your website led to your YouTube videos and then that led to other people's videos then that led to 30+ arcade machines (a few projects) and 10 pins between my 2 brothers and I.

Your going to keep a Centuri Route 16 i just saw one come up near me but I didn't know what it was, I might have to go get it so I can have something you have in your collection.

Thanks for all the videos they are Awesome.

You will see that Robotron mini in an upcoming video of my Williams Cabarets all lined up! Todd

Believe it or not, I was unaware of a thread in this discussion board until just now...every few days I do a search for "tnt" on klov to see if there is anything pressing, and also check my PM...but tonight, I did a search for Todd Tuckey and found that thread. I posted the below response on the thread but realized that a separate post should be done also--since others who original responded may not go all the way to the end of the pages!

Thank you all for your support and comments...it was nice to see so many that have enjoyed our videos over the years!

I started my cabaret collection in the oddest way. When I got married in 1996, my wife told me one of her "conditions" was that no arcade games were in our house. Since I had a two car detached garage, that seemed the logical place to put games. I had a few games there already, but the remains of my other hobby (16mm film collecting) was also there---racks of films--mostly odd reels from features--i.e. Reel 1 and 3 of Tootsie. I then made a deal with another collector for all 6000 reels for $1 each to take them all out at once (Value on these reels was $5 to $40 a reel, but it takes time to sell them--and there was no ebay yet).
NOW, I had LOTS of space and filled it with games. My daughter Tammy came along, and she even at 2 years old, loved the games and would wander around the garage with a stool and "play" the games. She LOVED going out to that garage! Well, soon, I found that the CABARETS or MINIS were ideal for her size AND I could fit more in...so I started replacing the full size games with as many cabarets I could find!
Well, this "Mania" turned into collecting..and I thought it would be fun to find ALL of the cabarets ever made...and VIOLA!

We moved from that house about 8 years ago and I built my dream game room...with 45 videos, 4 pinballs, and Seeburg's last jukebox (where you can see the mechanism again) and its been fun! BUT...the girls are 17 and 20 and no longer play like they did...and when they have parties, they have them at TNT---more games, easier to clean and control, etc (I have 80 games at TNT on freeplay)...
I have been toying with the idea of maybe selling the games for a few months when one collector asked me...he got another fellow involved, but they weren't sure they wanted everything...but another collector said he would buy everything these two guys didn't want---so it seemed like a no-brainer! The games will be going out over the next 8 weeks--in waves, as I am going over them again before departure. Also, about 25 of them have not really been finished at all (there are about 92 of them).

I will STILL have a full game room in the house---just different games (my wife wants THREE different Skeeball machines--yes there are different ones--for instance!) I will also keep several games forever (or until I am gone--then the wife will dump them)...my Sega Gremlin Dual upright games, my Sega Digger cocktail, Centuri Route 16, Taito Change Lanes, Quasar, and a couple others (these are not cabaret or mini games).

YES--I am sorry I never got a museum off the ground...but the CASH is certainly going to be good to get---college for two girls (I had kids late in life) and toward retirement at some point! (And of course I STILL have some 300 or more other games in our warehouses too after these are gone!) I am healthy---just fat! I plan to live to be 100...I want to play with my Grandchildren some day!
And oddly enough, I also have been selling some of my 16mm collection too--I have many rare film prints still in my collection (mostly cartoons)...did you know I sold 16mm cartoons to Mel Blanc--I have copies of his cancelled checks) when he couldn't get them from Warner Brothers. Several of my prints were bought by Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese & Joe Dante over the years. I shipped a hour long technicolor Disney film to Disney Studios in California last year that they wanted! BUT, I still buy cartoons to use at TNT for our arcade parties (we have about 1000 of them a YEAR since 1987--picked Best Of Philly for Grown Up Entertainment last year too!) rather than use DVD!

Anyway, I hope this filled everyone in and this was a good explanation of the sale...and subscribe to our channel so you don;t miss any of the cabarets going out. I plan on numbering them as we shoot the videos (Cabarets #1 and #2 are now up on the channel in Video #1150 for instance!) Maybe I will get some new fans! You can always email me at [email protected] too!

Yours in collecting...Todd N. Tuckey

That sucks dude, i know it can cost alot to put a kid through college i only wish you
didnt have to sacrifice your collection or most of it.
Family comes first always though.

Glad to see your not getting out of the arcade scene Todd. It seems your selling for all the right reasons and im sure the buyers will be very happy. Not a single one of those rare cabarets ever hit UK shores so its a pleasure to see them all together and in such great shape.
When i got back into the hobby a few years ago I came across your channel and have been watching ever since Keep up the good work!
