(I'm breaking my cardinal rule and partaking in DRAMA)
Holy crap...its a Saturday...and if I weren't going out, i'd prob be at my garage messing with the games instead of bitching about what other people do with stuff they own.
You want to make a difference, then stop buying parts. Do not buy a single used part again, ever. Obviously they came from fixable, useable, restorable games, no matter if it would cost a few mortgage payments, they were fixable, so don't ever buy another used part. You need a part? Make your own. Once everybody jumps on this, we won't have to worry about parted games anymore.
As for Todd, well I got several cheap cabinets from him, at least one of which I brought back to life - a Qbert, so you can deduct that from the 8. Every time I go there his guys go out of their way to help out and load the cabinets right into my truck! I've also picked up various bits and pieces I needed from time to time on the cheap (Darkstalkers Marquee, Ms Pac original harness, and the glass on my Pin came from him as well, and thats just off the top of my head). Let's not forget the free pinball head giveway (he could have just as easily trashed em), the $10 cabs, $7 power supplies, cheap project pins and everything else he's offered, especially to us here at discount or before the general public.
If you only saw how many games he had stashed away, you would better understand that 8 out of 800 is no big deal, and if it means making himself a commercial, to help continue his business of RESTORING GAMES..then who the f-- cares. Instead of pissing on someone else's business go and work on restoring your own! (but don't use any used parts).
PS - Let me (hopefully not be) the first to point out that there are some seriously more noble causes in the world to be passionate about then whether some guy threw a few rotted games off a roof.
Woo gotta lay off the caffeine for the rest of the day
