Todd Tuckey liquidates personal arcade collection WTF

if a thread already exists for this, please forgive me and link me to the thread but i just saw TT's video about him selling all his games.

if Todd wants to sell it all, no qualms here. times changes as do people. but do any fellow KLOVers have any details if everything's OK with Todd? did he push one too many cabs over the roof?

the thought of eradicating an arcade collection built over 30 years (and full of some seriously rare games) is terrifying to me, but i'm sure he has his legit reasons. i hope everything is ok.

I truly do hope everything is OK. I can tell from his voice that this isn't an easy decision.

I don't know Todd's reasoning but you have to remember sometimes when collectors have some nice rare items (in any hobby) it's better that they sell them while they're still around to get the worth out of the items and make sure they get to good places, the worst thing ever is when a collector dies and their family has no idea what anything is or how rare it is or value, etc.

Not that Todd's going anywhere, just sayin'.

We move along... life progresses... and there are tough decisions.

Thank you Todd for great memories, great service and some really great vids!!
I look forward to LOTS more!!

it just gave me the same vibe as when Luna Arcade (less than an hour from me) liquidated everything (albeit for VERY VERY different reasons)

it's always disconcerting when anyone with a killer collection out of the blue decides EVERYTHING MUST GO.

Wow, that's heartbreaking. You can tell always tries to stay positive and cheery for his videos, and he does, but still time you can see he's upset behind his smile this time around. I hope all is well Todd. That would be very rough for me, and I hope whatever is behind this isn't any rougher than that.

Best wishes Todd. Hurts to watch, you have such a great collection.

Steven

Financial issues??? Either way, depressing to say the least. Todd, seriously? Your enthusiasm for the hobby, and your videos are a source of inspiration for many including me.

Should have read this in the morning. Darn. One should never go to bed feeling blue.....

That and he wanted to get out from under his collection.... finally. I've had crazy offers on some of my games, and there's no way I'd let them go. I've sure he's had crazy offers on his collection in the past, also.

He's just reached that point where he's ready to move on from that chapter in his life... think about some of the hobbies you've been serious with in the past, and the ones you let pass. It happens.

Wish he was selling these one-by-one.

It sucks when the rich swoop in and take an entire collection. I would've liked to have saved up some coin and grabbed one rare cabaret.
