today's stern/facebook/TRON tease...

I've ranted enough about it. It's a cool looking, cool sounding, nonsense piece of shit. End of Rant. ;) Looking forward to the pin, though...lol.

no worries...not everyone is gonna like it. i think it's 50/50 with critics and around 65-70% with others on rottentomatoes.com, so not too bad.

i must have missed your rants though. :)

Good thing you don't play a character on sesame street. The word of the day would be shit.

looks like it's still doing pretty well at the box office:

http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/

I don't know enough about that stuff to really say if those are good numbers but they look mediocre to me and probably not what Disney had hoped for.

Don't get me wrong though I'm not saying it's a total flop. Not at all. More that it's just average and will be forgotten about by most people in a couple months.

I think I'm getting over my loathing of all the TRON fanboy crap and starting to look forward to what Stern will do with TRON. The fanboy crap actually reached a point where I hoped they wouldn't even build what could be their coolest pin ever. I should be ashamed of myself ;)

i'm not an expert on box office numbers either, but it's been out for 3 weeks, still in the top 5 per weekend draw, and has made around $100mil over budget so far. i'm really not sure what is considered "good" anymore as far as numbers are concerned what with the economy, the quick dvd/br turnaround time, etc.

as for the fanboy stuff, yeah, i can see that....any time there's something that's been almost 3 decades in the making and is as hyped as this movie was, there's gonna be some backlash. that's to be expected.

i hope the pin is way cool too. :)

To contrast... Little Fockers did just over $100 million it's first week. Tron has done a little more than $131 million in 3 weeks. A block-buster it is not.

Huh? Budget was $170 million... it's made $131ish so far...

uggghhhh @ little fockers. i can't imagine that movie being any good.

don't they calculate foreign/domestic totals when they note how much a film made? TRON has made almost as much abroad as it has in the states. as a contrast, looks like americans are the only ones dumb enough to go see little fockers. :)

btw, another comedy stinker: dinner for schmucks. i just saw it last night on BR. horrible (though i thought jemaine clement was awesome in it).

also, per that site i linked earlier, looks like TRON has only been out for 5 days longer than little fockers....and TRON is apparently in about 200 less theaters, since we're number crunching. :)

Funny how no one has made mention of the pf drawing on the wall.
Looks a lot like the one I saw only smaller ;)
I'm surprised the people in that room didn't bum rush the photographers ass lol

Lindsey I loathe the phrase "fan boy". I've never been a Tron geek/fan boy.
I never bought an action figure or any other type of merchandise. I was a kid when that movie came out FWIW. I love the TRON game (hated DOT) and to this day have not owned a TRON vid. I also do not own the TRON movie. But I see the possibilities they have for this game and if any title could pull off greatness this is certainly one of them.
Don;t confuse the people with vision/hope with the "fan boys" ;)

somebody on the facebook "thread" (comments after the pic) did. looks a lot like the one they teased a while back. IIRC, that one was hanging on the wall too, but at an angle.

do you think that's a TRON layout? or the rolling stones one?

meant to comment on this earlier: that would be some sweet side art.

I didn't call you one. I could have used 20 words to relate my thought but those 2 were good enough. I can understand not wanting to be called one. I wouldn't much like it myself but the phrase itself didn't do anything to you ;)

Don't worry... I'm not confused. I know who the visionaries are. Phet's side art, for example, is awesome. I just got a little annoyed by what I call the "fan boy stuff". People being what I consider overly enthusiastic about it turned me off of the whole thing. HOWEVER, I don't fault those people for it and if that's what makes them happy they should do it. My advice to them would be to tell me to go fuck myself.

Nah - only internet tough guys pull that shit anyway.

And yes - I completely forgot to mention Phets art. Dude that is just beautiful.
Me thinks you should send that to Stern. Fuck dude ya just might get a free-b out of the deal!

You're asking if people will still care about Tron ....ON KLOV!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

28 years later people care about Tron.

Tron Legacy is the most boring piece of shit, and people still care about Tron.

4 months won't make a difference...people who love Tron LOVE Tron.

....and I don't give a shit about Tron, and am excited for the Tron pin...lol....so there. :)

I'll be buying...It will look nice next to the LE Avatar Pin :)
