Today's pickup: NEO-GEO MVS-1

Found a Neo Geo on CL today. Wanted $400 for it, he took $275 for it.

It's a MVS-1, but it looks like a MVS-2 cabinet originally because of the save slot and headphone jacks. There's no hardware there of course. It's in great shape. A few scratches here and there. Needs a bezel, a marquee, marquee bulb and some side art, but I'm happy with it. No keys though, will just have to remove lock from back if possible.

Came with a 150-in-1 cart.

Monitor looks good, but it's a little dark. I haven't had much time to mess with it yet, but at first I didn't see a remote board, so I guess it's yoke controls only, ugh. It's a 25K7191, which I have two others of, both with remote boards, so I was surprised. The clipping on the monitor in the last picture is from the crappy cardboard bezel attached to the bezel glass.

If your K7000 doesn't have the remote board, on the back of the chassis (which is god awful in a Neo Geo) has knobs, the far right one is brightness, and the one next to it is contrast. There may be a panel that unscrews on the back so you can reach the knobs, though.

Edit: after looking at the pictures, it looks like the remote board is hanging down on the right in front of the game pcb from the front of the cabinet.

Great pick up and great price. I paid $550 for my 2 slot with 3 games.

I'm actually in the process of restoring mine and was wondering if the black cardboard bezel around the monitor is stock because mine has it too. I'm replacing it though as it makes the machine look cheap.
