Today's pickup: Tetris & SF2 WW

Tetris has always been one of my "must buys", and I've been needing to add a fighting game to the collection. These popped up on CL on Monday, and I knew then I was going to buy them. The lady selling was very nice, and agreed to hold them until today for me. The ad said $300 each, so I asked what sort of deal she would do if I bought both, and she said $250. I assumed she meant $250 each, but when I asked she said that was for both! Fast forward to today. I show up with cash in hand, and ask the husband how much they wanted for them after checking them out. He says $150! I rip the money out of my wallet so fast it almost caught fire.

Both monitors look amazing. The Tetris is in a "Packman" (according to the label inside) cab, while the SF2 is obviously in a Dynamo cut corner with a SF World Heros (edit: World Warriors) board. Tetris has one broken solder joint on the coin switch, but otherwise working 100%. SF2 will do register either player start button, but that's a topic for another thread. Both cabs need sideart, and a little paint. So without further ado, some pics:

Nice pick-up on the SFII!

Hopefully, you can get it running SFII again, fix those controls and repaint it black. The sideart looks nice, so I'd just mask that off and paint around it.

So it's currently a 1-slot MVS board running a World Heroes cart?

That "Packman" had been modified with a Sente kit before becoming Tetris. Notice the Sente bezel and larger control panel.

It's running a sf2 world warrior board (I was wrong in the first post). The one side art is ok, but the other side is scratched badly.

I noticed that on the bezel, but I had never heard of it before. Maybe up can find someone to trade...

Dynamos resore really nice. Just strip the side art and leace the sides smooth black after sanding and a rew rolled coats of rustoleum semigloss black. Throw some new smooth T-molding on there and you couldn't be happier. If you can find a hyper fighting board for $50-75 then jump on that also. You will really enjoy the version upgrades.

Nice pickups for he price. I would have paid that easily for just the SF2. I think your SF2 is easily worth $200-300 in present condition.

Also this looks to be a 25" HS5 or an HS2. Can you open the drawer up and show some pics?

By "drawer" do you mean the board that slides out that the PCB is mounted on? I do need to know what monitor it is because is has some horizontal shift after full warmup...

Yes the long panel that the control panel hing is bolted to is the drawer.
The nicer HS models have this. Just take a picture of the symptom and the Monitor chassis for some help.

You mean you can't adjust the shift on the monitor?

Taken earlier (I don't think this will adjust out):

NICE! You beat me to finding one of my grails. I really wish I could find someone selling a SFII here. Nothing but trash mostly on CL in this area, really envy your SWFII find. lol ;) I would do what others have said about the SFII machine. It looks in really good condition for what you paid for it too, that was a steal. Normally I see them for at least $300 non-working in utter trash mode on ebay. Congrats man!

I have seen that as a bad adjustment. I usually try to adjust everything after fresh caps and throwing it on the rejuv to test the colors of the tube.

Well, I was wrong. The horizontal shift was fixed by adjusting out the h hold. everything is 100% functional now!
