No, it's not serial #2, but it's my second Donkey Kong cabaret - yes, I already own one

To be fair, my current unit doesn't actually have or play Donkey Kong any longer. It was picked up already converted to Konami Classic standard, and hacked up considerably. As such, I popped my Frogger PCB in and played that in there (since I already own a Donkey Kong upright!) I started making adapters, and am now playing BurgerTime in it. The plan was (and still is) to make it original again, and I have nearly every bit to make that happen. *AHEM* Still looking for an original Nintendo joystick mounting plate - Mike's will not suffice...

But now this little monkey comes into my life (again - notice a pattern with me and Kong?) and looks like I'll be tackling it's issues first, since it shouldn't take too much to get it back into playable condition.

The monitor has about an inch of foldover (easy peasy), and the PCB is showing the classic blockiness of moving characters. Hopefully nice, easy ROM corruption. Of course, as a hoarder of all things Kong, I have plenty of boards to drop in it's place if need be. The previous owner cracked the plexiglass on the monitor, probably in a fit of frusteration, so it will need to be replaced with a new cut piece (PING : Phetishboy ) And yes, that is a fullsize marquee that someone cut down and riveted (ACK!) to the front... fun. It needs t-molding on the CP at the very least, and as much as I want original-style; flat, hard, brown t-molding, I doubt such a thing is available.

Anyways, pics or blahblahblah

are there any plans on the internet for these type of cabarets?

i think the chances of me ever finding a cabaret here in uk will be zilch and uprights are so damn expensive and rare so i wouldnt mind to actualy build one of these, just a case of having the diagrams/schems for the cabinet.
:)

I would also like to know how much these go for. I like this mini better than a pacman mini style.

It's very similar (at least externally) to some Atari cabarets like Asteroids and Missile Command.

Nice pickup. DK Cabaret is on my wish list, but they seem hard to come by.

they look simialr but something tells me that the cab is wider at least.

anyone know where the plans are or a good site with the plans for other cabs also.

thanks.
:)

yayfers

SUCCESS!

As hoped, the only problem with the PCB was a single bad EPROM. It read blank and wouldn't take a new burn, so I replaced it and the board is back in action :)

As to the questions of price or value, I won't say what I paid, but these normally go for a few hundred dollars, working.

You must not have seen my DK Cabaret side project build thread. I could post plans I suppose, but I used an existing cab to copy (and made some modifications, like a lighted marquee for starters):
