This was a long wait to finally find one in the state of Florida, and on top of that the price was right! And to think I just about shipped one a few months ago and almost drove north of Atlanta for another.. and this one is nicer than both of those.

She works, but needs a cap kit, the controller is a little rough, just turns kind of rough like it has too much friction, so I'm hoping this is something that is fixed by Rams rebuild kit. The art is OK for now, but I do plan a full restoration on this baby!!

The grey part between the CP and monitor is the dolly strap, this is the best pic I have for now, but it shows that it's a nice machine!!

This is another one of those machines that I have been wanting for so long that I almost can't believe I finally landed one :)

Overall, it looks in pretty good shape! Take some more pictures if you can...

Space is my main obstacle right now.

Thanks guys! Another forum member is holding the game for me, so I won't be able to get better pics until I can get it picked up.

I was surprised at how nice the pics were and the guy that picked it up (another collector) told me at how nice of shape it is and that the pics don't do this one justice. I love it when that happens! So many times I've been on the other end of that where it looks good in pics and after a 5 hour drive one way it's not looking so good in person (lol).

This is a game I played the crap out of when I was in high school, and the "SKATE OR DIE!!" and music on this game bring back SOOO many memories it's not even funny... and that's the best part of this hobby to me. When you step up to an original dedicated cab with the spinner and bad ass cabinet with the boom-box staring at ya, there's just no emulation that can replace that.

I've tried to play this on my PSP, but of course there's no substitute to the original controls and feel, but it has fed a little of my need to play it :)

As far as the art goes, I plan on the entire package with a full restore on my part.. so is phoenix arcade the best available?

I can't wait to get this one restored, I'll be sure to post pics of the process also.

YES! Always great to hear of a 720 ending up in the hands of a true fan and collector.

SKATE OR DIE!!!

Jeff, just checked out your site, what an amazing job you've done to preserve the history and document just about everything one could need for or done to this game!! Thanks for a great site!!

The roughness and sluggishness may be helped by the rebuild kit. One of the issues that you sometimes run into is the upper housing gets "grooves" cut in it from the stick rotating. Sometimes there's also not enough nyogel, and sometimes the dust cover is catching. When you take it all apart you'll be able to figure it out. My restore thread talks about some of the things I did, and Jeff's site also points to similar issues and fixes. There's definitely a wealth of info out there on it.

As far as the joystick goes, if it feels rough or "feels like it has too much friction when spinning", what's the probable fix for this? Is the Ram Controls rebuild kit sufficient for most problems? I don't think Dave has the entire assembly available yet, correct?

You may want to steer clear of RAM controls, there is another thred on the forums detailing numerous KLOV members being owed refunds or products and getting no response from RAM.

For artwork Darin's stuff at Phoenix Arcade is top notch.

There are others that have his kits for sale.

As for the artwork, Darin's the only one with it, and sometimes Rich has vinyl. Be dareful with the boom box overlay.

Once I get it I'll pull the joystick and post some pics, hopefully I can get this sucker running smoothly, it certainly is an important part of the game! :) The good news is that it was spinning without any problems and registering correctly, so I'm optimistic!
