STAR CASTLE !!

The machine isn't working, machine fires up with with a small blur on the sceen (at least the monitor partly works) - Other than that it's pretty dead.

Machine is very dirty, it's been stored in a shed for a number of years. This was obviously imported from the US (I'm in the UK), looking at the WITCHITA state license stickers. It's nice and solid, most of the side art is intact, and no water damage (thank heavens...) - looks like a good winter project.

I've not worked on one of these before, any general tips would be appreciated.

If the boards are working right when applying power an led on the gameboard should come on for a split second and the go out and there should be a single explosion sound.if the light dont come on you got prob,if the light stays on or blinks you got prob.if you get horrible rasping noise you got prob.

I would say start by checking +5v to gameboard.you can actualy supply it from a switcher.+5 to the gameboard and ground to ground.power on and see if light comes on and gos off.this will help to determine bad power supply.you can check the voltages at the power supply without harness connected but remember some might not show anything as they are returns and some might be a lil high due to no load.

Bit of common realy.
