Todays pick up!

The next call I get is the shipping company telling me that they will not touch this game with a 10000 foot pole. I talk to 10 different people and try to explain but no one was having it. After the messages I got from this guy I can understand and don't blame them.

So now its "How do I get this game shipped?" I call several companys and they all want a ton or do not pick up and pack. I spend 2 days on this. I figure the guy would be getting calls with offers all weekend and that I was just going to be out the money I sent. But I have to say that he was a stand up guy and held the game for me the whole time.

I find this company Fright Center on the net....NEVER USE THEM! EVER!

The first thing I tell them is that I can't use NAVL or STI (the pickup company). They tell me no problem. I give them all the same shipping info I gave NAVL.
Well to make this long story short THEY USED STI for what they call "first mile" which is the pick up and pack. STI just ignores this pickup once they see its for the Wacko arcade game and me. They don't bother to call Fright Center or me. So I wait a week and after hearing nothing I call Fright Center and ask what is going on. The women I set up the move with says "Oh looks like there is a problem".....NO S#!&

Fright Center unlike NAVL gets the money for the move up front. NAVL lets you COD. So Fright Center had 450.00 of mine and the game never got picked up (Still trying to get it back). Its now been 10 days and the game is still sitting in MA!

At this point I am about over it.

The guy with the Wacko tells me that he had a friend in the next town with a service station and he could get it moved there. So I call NAVL....set up the move in my business partners name with another address and use the info for the guy at the service station.....it finally goes off without a hitch! ;)

After almost a month it came yesterday!

I am very happy with it. It was not too dirty except for the monitor. The controls are ok....The trackball needs to be rebuilt. It had the left speaker out that I fixed by changing the z80 on the ssio board. It has a bit of a hiss now but I will be putting in a switcher and hope that it will solve that problem.

Here are the rest of the pics....

Ok here is a pic of my marquee, best I could do.

And a shot of the game in freeplay :)

You will notice in pic one, the marquee was originally screened to say 1982 (roman numerals) and the last line to make it 1983 appears to be hand drawn in. Maybe they are all like that, I wouldn't know.

This thing has had a loud hum from day one. Well yesterday I flipped the games on and the hum had become deafening. Hoping it was the PS I flipped one in and presto...no more hum. I love it when things like that happen!

Perhaps naively, I'm curious, why wouldn't they?

Nice score. That bezel looks nice and non-flaky. My machine does not have the blue and black vinyl or whatever material that is on the lower front. Is that covering something up or did someone get experimental?
