I picked up a pair of gottlieb projects today: Genesis and Robo Wars. Sorry, no pics yet as I was pressed for time with my schedule today( no pics, but it really did happen). The genesis powers up and plays with the exception of a non working popbumper and ejecting both balls into the shooter lane. Robo wars is dead, but complete. Both are in need of a shop job, but couldn't pass them up.
Any other members also have these machines? Any specific items or repairs to do/look for?

Very cool!!! Both System 80b games and both awesome games as well. In fact, I think Genesis is the best Premier pin...

I own a Genesis and I don't know if you're famaliar with Gottliebs but grounding mods. are a MUST. My Genesis did some wierd things till I did the mods...

Robo War is on my want list....(Let me know if you ever want to sell it:) Alot of drop targets which I love with a good back ground tune! My suggestion if it's totally dead is to start with P.S. (which are JUNK) and work your way from there....

Marvin/pinrepair has a good guide for these Gottliebs albeit it neglects the B games but it's almost the same procedure....

I haven't had much time to tear into these yet as my wife is having health issues at the moment. Maybe in a few weeks I will at least have a parts needed list put together. I'm looking forward to playing both of them.

I have a Genesis and love it. Just put a few purple LEDs in it and it looks really good. Gonna have to order some more.

How are the ramps on it?

The entry points on both ramps are broke. I'll have to come up with a fix as I don't believe anyone is reproducing them right now.

I had just a minute to look at the robo war and found a bad connector on the transformer assembly. The game now boots and goes into attract mode. Ya gotta love the simple fixes!

Genesis is a fabulous game, I loved it when it was new and had to find one for myself.
Typical grounding/connection problems and the ramps are always smashed.

I would like to see pics of that..... I was thinking putting led's in the pops...

There was planning on repro ramps for Genesis using mine as a mold but the other guy doing the molds had to scrap the idea due to cost......

I picked up a Genesis about 8 months ago for cheap off CL. Picked it up for my dad and step mom as they had been wanting a pin in their basement but of course didn't want to spend much money. The right ramp had alot of cracking in it but I was able to rig it so it worked ok. This game had alot of problems but it all fixed and cleaned up for them as a Christmas present. It's actually a really fun pin. I love the music and sound effects, especially when you complete the robot parts! I've only did that once, it's pretty tough.

At a pinball show a couple of months ago a guy was selling a (mostly) complete playfield for Genesis and I snagged it for a $35. It was missing the left ramp but had the right one and it was completely intact and in great shape! Needless to say it went right on my dad's playfield. Now I've got a spare Genesis playfield in good shape along with most of the plastics and all the playfield parts underneath. Not bad for $35!

My ramps had been "repaired" with bondo and pink nail polish by a previous owner !!!
One day I will get around to stripping it off and applying a more subtle fix or going in on a group repro

I will try and get some pictures later tonight. I only ordered 10 just to see what it would look like. Wishing i would have ordered more.

Here a few pics of my Genesis with the purple LEDs. Was hard to get good pictures. Definitely looks better in person. Gonna order some more to try in the rest of the GI lighting.

Just picked one of these up as well, I just need a right ramp, it was burnt and melted to be unplayable. Anyone have a cracked one to sell me, I need it just to play. If so let me know, I am planning on making molds for these but they will be clear ramps out of PETG, anyone want to lend some good ramps for repos, let me know!!!
