Saw a Thunder Blade on CL today, guy was asking 130 for it, I sent him an offer of 75, he agreed on it, so I pulled the trigger. Got a nice afternoon drive out of it as well. Monitor fires up fine, but game itself seems to have a problem pcb level most likely. The board looks to be in really good shape, anyone know anything about these? Is this one of the boards with the infamous "suicide batteries"? If so, how do i go about replacing these bad boys?

With this generation SEGA I wouldnt be surprised if there is a suicide battery. Go to sega resurrection's website for the full details on your board.

I know I've seen these boards sell for surprisingly high dollar. at least IMO. Seen the boards sell for $150 which to me is a lot for this game because I don't value it as a $150 game in working condition.

Awesome, thanks guys! Looks like it is the battery, the guy said it quit working out of the blue about three months ago, and after carefully checking the game out, everything else seems to be good. That site does indeed have a replacement rom kit and for a modest price as well! Looks like I will have this game up and running in no time!

Also, anyone have a spare bezel lying around? This must not be a common game, as I didnt find too much searching the archives. I blame the suicide battery...

Actually it is a very common game. It was a good 90 second quarter eater in every pizza shop I can remember. There were 3 different versions of this game (2 uprights and an interactive sitdown pod). You need to look at google pics to see which art piece you need specifically.
