i just picked up a virtua fighter from craigslist today. its working 100% and its in super nice shape. i got it for his asking price of $50. luckily, him and his son loaded it for me and i had my neighbor and my pool guy unload it for me. my pool guy must hate me now. thats the second week in a row he showed up and i had a game in the truck for him to unload. haha

im not into fighters but my son loves them. are there any special moves in this game like there are in street fighter II?

and here is the pic so it did happen. this is the best picture i can get. the boy wont stop playing it long enough for me to take a picture.

Nice price! The med-res monitor alone is worth way more than that. When your son gets bored of that game you should get another med-res game to play in that. I've seen Dead or Alive conversions using the same cab.

I actually picked this game up so I could swap the monitor into my Cruisn world machine. The monitor in the Cruisn world works but the blue is real low and the green goes out every once in a while.

I wish I could get a star was kit for this machine but I don't think Sega made a stand up star wars. Both games use the same pinout.

Awesome pick up. One of my favorite games as a kid. I've been searching for another one of these for a while now. They always go for so cheap because it really isn't as desirable as other fighters.Which is fine by me because it's one of my favorites. It's really cool to see your son likes it too.

I wish I had this in 1994

find a rejuvinator and hit the crusins monitor with it. Nice pickup! sometimes those virta fighters have nanao dual rez monitors in them.

Virtua Fighter isn't the greatest game, but that looks a bit too nice just to rip up for the monitor.

i agree 100%. i think this is the nicest looking $50 game i have ever bought. i wasn't going to just rip the monitor out of it. im going to swap the monitors with my cruisn world. both games would still be playable.

i have been wanting to get one. is the b&k 440 a good model?

I would get 490, then 467. Peronally, I would only get those, but then maybe 470, then older models (not sure on the 440).

here are some good deals if someone needs it:
cr23 for $23 new

cr24 for $23 new

here is a good deal for a complete 467 with 23 for $75 + $25 ship.

Just a head-up since you're already going down the rejuv road, but the Cruisn' CRT is likely fine.
If that is a WG 2000/5000/7400 I'd suspect the neck board before the tube. very common problem. If it isn't a WG then I'd suspect the tube (Cruisn's shipped with WG).

At least 1/3 WGs I seem to get these days have that issue of colors washed out/imbalanced/missing and it is always the neck board -- usually the transistors but it can also be the LM1203 IC. If you have another similar monitor try swapping out the neck boards and see what happens -- they can be swapped in 30 seconds (the G2 lead is a quick-disconnect, thankfully).

Or just pull & inspect the board to make sure your green driver transistor is still making connection & the pots can adjust it. The drivers get too hot and can burn the traces off the board. Even if you can adjust it & the color isn't correct, the transistor still needs to be replaced, and make sure the large resistors next to them have not drifted.

The VF is med res too and probably has a Nanao MS8. Great monitors.

Wow, that's a SICK price for a great looking working game.

I'm with the other guys on this - fix that Cruisin monitor. Keep that VF together!

i was very surprised when i got there and saw the condition of the game. the inside looks like the back door has never been opened. the guy told me he bought it new for his kids. but i dont know if he meant from the factory or from an operator. it sure looks nice enough to be huo. btw i got the cruisn world last week for $150 with the messed up monitor and no pcb, i already had a spare pcb for it.

the vf will stay a working vf. the only way it would change is if i could figure a way to get the sega star wars to play properly. even if i did that i would only do it so it could be put back as a vf with no problems. my big plan was to switch monitors because the cruisn will get more play than the vf. then fix the monitor in the vf at a later date. i have been wanting a rejuvenator for a few years now and just never pulled the trigger on one. i have 6 nintendo monitors that i want to use it on as well as the 2 cruisn games i have.

i will check out the neck board as soon as i get home and post my findings. im leaving right now to pick up another game and probably another monitor problem. haha

the new game i just got home with. it works but it looks like it has a snyc problem. it has a 27k7391 monitor in it.

this one cost me $75. i love craigslist the last 2 weeks. a cruisn world, virtua fighter, and a point blank for $275. i wish i could find nintendo machines like this.
