Today I went to check out this SF2 conversion because when I asked for pics I noticed that it was a CPS3 board inside with 2nd Impact in there.

He said that he could never get it powered up and he thought that the harness was cut from all of the loose wires inside.

It didn't light up the monitor when I was there but I plugged it into my test harness (w the 7" LCD screen) and I confirmed that the CPS3 board was fully functional.

I took the machine for $160 and was happy if I only got the game board and maybe a other parts off the machine cause even the SF2 Bezel was in good condition.

Got it home and figured out that it was just a loose power cable LOL... the guy didn't even know it almost fully worked. The loose wires were unused kick harness wires and the old CPS1 kick harness that was left in the machine.

Oddly the G07 was gone for a Nanao with Sega Tube... At least the monitor adjusted well.

The sound is dead from the harness and it wasn't the speaker but I think that it's really an easy fix.

I pulled the board that I wanted.... now what to do about this machine... I seriously hate conversions like this so I want this out...

I honestly debated getting this from the guy as he said he'd take a trade and I really want a SF2:WW.

But as you have mentioned in great detail, it sounds like there were some issues with the overall condition of the cabinet and the thing that turned me off the most is that it wasn't in a dynamo cut-corner cab.

Like you, I would have wanted to get rid of the cab rather than go through all the trouble and convert it back to a Dig Dug or whatever. I would have made a lame barter for parts basically.

Hopefully, someday, I'll find a nice SF2. Growing up in the 90s, I spent much of my allowance and minimum wage pay on that game. :)

if SF2 WW is what you want...

I have basically that cab and the original SF2 WW board in it. It's a Dynamo HS-1 with corner cut cab. I've got two actually... one has the square-ish CP and i'm looking to put the corner cut CP on it and re-dress it... having monitor issues with them now as I haven't thrown time at figuring them out.

I can probably put together an original WW cab is that's what you are looking for.

This one I picked up last night isn't what you want as the board was clearly a SF3 2nd Impact... although it can be setup as a SF2 WW, CE, HF pretty easy.

Nice score on the CPS3 board. I wouldn't mind getting one but the whole battery change on these boards keeps me from actively looking for one.

I might want the cab if you wanna get rid of it . I was thinking of getting a Jamma cab for Horizontal games .

I shopped the whole thing.. capped the monitor and put in a Happy Fish board.

Sold for $550 on CL today...

HFv2 from Kingsley. CPS1 is ass on there but CPS2 and MVS are full speed as far as I can tell. I dissabled all of the poor games and left about 100 working ones enabled.

He was a CL guy off the street looking to entertain drinking buddies. THE PERFECT CUSTOMER FOR THIS. So he seems happy. 24 hours later no irrate calls so i'm all good.

Now i'm trying to figure out how to spend my earnings....

$199 went to a Radiant Silvergun ST-V cart on Ebay and I'm thinking about upgrading the CPS3 2nd impact board to Asian 3rd Strike for $150... but there is missing Audio in this "Korean" version.

I can't seem to find a working Japanese or US version... I should have bought a full CPS3 Set when I worked there for the $450 they were asking for. Then again it may be suicide by now and I'd be forced to revive it as an inferior Asian/Korean version.
