Saw an ad on craigslist today about a movie production company moving warehouses and they were giving away a bunch of movie props.. I headed down there and found what looks like a very early arcade game called "The Game Tree"....

The guy told me that the monitor did not work and he was right.. Looks like everything else fires up ok...

Can't find much info on it... Anyone here know anything about it?

Yummy, what kind of punch?

Looks like a old EM shooter that was converted to a generic game for movie purposes. If it has a screen the I'd say it's an exidy shooter in a different cab. Any other cool props?

Mostly horror props from Buffy the vampire slayer (Vampires that popped out of the ground)... They did have a close encounters pinball machine, however the guy just before me got it... He got it for $100.00 and it was fully functional..

Go list it on VAPS, there are none listed yet! great find...

Do you have the contact number for the prop house...I'd be up for some props if there are any left.

Does the game play blind as it sits now?

I'll take some of those vampires too! I can use them for our haunted house if someone can grab them and store them for a bit.

The company had to be out of the warehouse by yesterday.. I tried calling today and there was no answer. When I left there were lots of people in line (They were letting in 5 people at a time)....

The machine powers up, lights up, but no display..... Not sure if it is working or not...

Of course.... can you snap additional pix of the cabinet inside? The pcb, etc... would be neat to see since it seems like a no-name manufacturer.

You might have the only one. Might be for good reason to...but cool either way.

I agree, with such an obscure game it would be kind of cool to see some more pictures.

That is pretty kick ass. The doc package is great too. It does fully explain the logic and even has data sheets for the custom chips it has. Someone can get that baby working. :)

Edit: Looks like they had a few games..

I hope so, however I have no idea of who to ask about getting repaired.... Any help from anyone in So Cal?

I did find a cable that was disconnected. It was connected to a small actuator.. When I connected it, it started vibrating the cabinet.. My guess is that when you pull the trigger, it causes this to knock the cabinet for effect...

Kind of cool..

First step would be to see if you're getting AC to the cabinet....sounds like you are. 2nd would be what voltages the board requires and if its getting what it needs?

You might try posting to the repair section, someone might have actual tech advice that could help. Good luck.

PSE also did Maneater and a few others. I had a working Maneater and it's all TTL with no processor so they're pretty basic.

I'd start with basic troubleshooting by checking the incoming A/C then go from the power supply and see if you're getting 5v, ect. Those boards tend to be pretty robust with no mystery custom chips, what you see is what you get with them.

I hooked up my multi-meter to both sides of the fuses and they are seeing 110v... On the other side of the transformer I am getting nothing.. I disconnected the plug from the transformer to 3 main boards and could not get any readings from any of the plugs...

I have no idea of where to get the right transformer...

Sorry, I am such a newbie...

Thanks,

Chris
