I see this on CL...

..and i get excited. Then I see this...

...and my excitement wanes significantly. That said, it just so happens I could really use a Gravitar style cabinet as my Black Widow is BEAT TO ALL LIVING HELL with just enough water damage to be a pain in the ass plus chunks missing from the back corner and the control panel area. Basically it was/is my largest project.

SO...

The good:

It's got a working K4900 in it...

The glass bezel is MUCH nicer than the scratched to all hell one I have on BW...

The cabinet itself is in decent shape. Much better than mine, but not perfect. It's seen some "environmental" moisture... it's ever so slightly swelled in places... the art is in 8.5/10 condition... overall a much nicer cabinet than my current BW cab....

The control panel is an original Black Widow control panel and I am thinking there is a good chance the original art is under the ROMTEK generic CPO on it now.

Both BW sticks are still present...

That's about it.

It's dirty as hell... and it doesn't currently work (she said it did last time she tried last year).

I got it cheap.

Oddly there are not one but two whole Atari power brick assemblies in the cab...one on the bottom one mounted to the side??! That's about it as far as original stuff is concerned...

Nice grab!

That's weird, though. Does Bottom of the 9th work with two sticks like those?

Why is there a second transformer block mounted in there? That doesn't make a lot of sense. Maybe they took it from an Atari raster game to power the monitor as the vector version wouldn't have the winding to run a raster monitor. This is just a guess. Never heard of anyone doing that.

More evidence it was a BW...

Here are some comparison shots of before/after I pulled a Ghetto restoration. I used red, orange, and black Sharpe as well as white model paint. The before shots were done after I cleaned the cab and used magic eraser on it. It was filthy.

First the "bad" side... there was nothing much that could be done about the tear at the bottom middle. Unfortunately green Sharpe doesn't look right. The rest cleaned up nicely...

Next is the "good" side. Note I had to "reconstruct" the bottom front corner as well as a good part of the "arm" of the guy...

Here is a nice shot of the gutted cab after cleanup/ghetto resto... not bad eh?

Thanks...

Questions: Is Black Widow or Gravitar CPO art available? I need to create a control panel overlay for my multi BW/Gravitar and would love to start with stock Gravitar CPO art.
