To the guy who made a perfectly good pacman into a tetris!

If the guy who painted over this cab is on klov please pm me. Id like to punch you in the face!! Ive had this "tetris" that i knew was an original pac. I finally got the guts to try and strip the paint and try and discover some sweet artwork. I did a lot of research on this and went out and got various different strippers and a heat gun. I tried everything and this is what I started and ended up with. im super dissapointed. Now I will be on the search for Pac stuff. The cab is gutted (except for monitor). Id like to restore this back to pacman. Looks like I need everything including stencils. Anybody want to donate some pac stuff?lol

I see an air compressor in the picture. Now you need a cheap HVLP gun, some paint, and a ton of prep/sanding/primer time.

Is there a correct file out there i can pay to have a sign shop turn into a stencil? I really want to rework this pac. someone pm me with the info please.

I have a vinyl plotter. If you had the vector art work or even a rather large DPI raster I could cut you a couple of vinyl stencils. They would be self adhesive so only one time use but it would work for you.

I just wanted to update this. I have decided to trade this machine for a donkey kong. The guy with the DK is an op who needs a tetris. He said if I give him the tetris and rebuild two monitor chassis then the DK is mine. So goodbye tetris. You will not be missed.

That works!

kill me for saying this, but I like Atari Tetris. It's a really fun game, especially two player. It's got tons more replay value than a memorize-the-maze-game (oh snap! I said it!) :)

To me, it's just as "classic" as Pac Man, since I have a lot of great memories playing Tetris in the college student center with my room mates.

Anyway, I'd take a minty-looking Tetris over any kind of Pac Man. :)

There's no such thing as a minty-looking Tetris. They're all conversions. Some crappy, some really crappy.

That said, I know there were tons of classic cabs converted to the 'latest and greatest' kit games when they were released. Damn shame if you ask me.

Yes, it's a damn shame now. But 25 years ago when operators had a shitload of PacMans that were not bringing in enough cash to be worthwhile, any decent conversion kit was a good option. And cabinets that were not suitable for conversions got stripped and trashed. I see what people are paying for some of the stuff I trashed back then and it makes me a little sad, until I realize what it would have cost to store it. Not to mention the way components deteriorate over that long a time. Should have kept all my comic books and baseball cards too, but then if everyone did that, none of it would have any value today. Different times.

Well if you look at it this way, If your Pac-man cabinet was never converted into a tetris, you may have not gotten a pac cab by now. This game might a good as gone out with the trash!

Edit: Whoopse, just saw that you traded for a DK. Nevermind what I said then. :D

how much would you charge for the stencils :)

I stripped black enamel off my afterburner vinyls with really good sucess using Citristrip. It was recommended by another member on the boards. Brush it on wait about 5 minutes then LIGHTLY scrape off. It was pretty easy. If the paint they used is latex or enamel it should come off before the strip starts to affect the original Pac Man painted art, but I would test some inconspicous spots first.
