I recently picked up a DK Jr. and now have a mini row going. So Now I'm wondering if I should paint the DK or MB, so each cab can be unique. I could basically do one of 3 things:

1. Paint the front of MB black, giving it sort of a "widebody" color scheme. Only problem is its blue and the side art is perfect, so I wont be touching the sides.

2. Paint the DK red. It's originally blue and appears to have been restored recently. Its also been repainted and, while its not terrible, it has its share of imperfections. The paint scratches off easily. I have no clue what kind of shape the original factory coat is in. Again, perfect side art, but I could try masking it, or just get new side art since its not expensive (for this game anyway). Red might be neat, even though it was born blue.

3. Leave it alone, who gives a shit anyway?

I dont plan on buying any more Nintendo cabs and dont plan on getting rid of any of these. With that in mind, what would you do?

They aren't OUR games, they are YOURS. You are the one that is going to have to look at them everyday!
If you are asking if they were in my basement what would I do? For sure then by all means that DK would be as red as red can be, and you might be on to something with the black front on MB...

+1 for the first two sentences. Also +1 for the red DK! And why not mask off the MB side art and paint the sides orange if you're going to go ahead and try for the faux widebody look? It can be done!

They look in good shape. I have repainted all my cabs.. but There is nothing that looks and feels like that original enamel of the cabinet..

I'm lazy, so I'd leave them be. But if you're bored, and want to go through the headache and expense of repainting, go for it.

But my vote is "leave alone" unless they are damaged and need repair/repaint.

I vote for #3, leave them alone. I got all crazy with side art and restorations when I first got into the hobby. Then I sat all my games side by side and I can't see any of the artwork I spent all that money on...

If the games work great, just play them! :)
