To Mame or not to Mame....

dude, just fix it up. Mame it would be fine too. Whatever you do, make sure you learn how to hold a camera while filming. You started to lose me when half your video was you kicking a ball on the ground. :)

1. I have a tripod(Not using)
2. I generally pace when I'm trying to think of something
3. I didn't really care the quality of this video, if I'm doing something more serious I film it better.

And fixing it up would probably = more pain then gain.
Might need a new arcade monitor shipped in vs a pc monitor for dirt cheap, having to wire up a jamma harness and trying to figure out how to wire up the monitor when missing some connectors.

yeah, coolsville, man.
To me, it would be easier to fix what is there rather than mame it, however for some folks mameing something is very easy for them. From what it seems like, you're looking for approval from KLOVers on the mameing, I would say go for it. Do something cool. Best luck to you.

PS. Just giving ya a little shit.

Out of curiosity, how would it be harder for Mame? Granted my knowledge of computers is far greater than my arcade knowledge but its not really hard. Get a ipac or keywiz etc etc..

then why ask if you answered it yourself?

Personally, I'd rather see some still shots with your comments typed out. I get bored watching video. I keep yelling, "okay, get to the point!" Not just for you, but for everyone....

I wouldn't mame it , but thats me , its really up to you , what you'll be happy with .

I would not stick a PC monitor in it . That defeats the purpose of a real arcade cab .

I wouldn't suggest putting MAME in there. If you can't redo the connectors on the monitor I don't hold much hope out for you to fully MAME a cabinet. Even if you want to MAME the cabinet, you should fix that giant ass monitor that is in it and use it for MAME. :)

Just take some high-quality shots of where the connectors are missing from and the folks on here can help figure out what your missing.

Its not only that, I'm not even sure if the monitor will work right, before I removed it it was quite spazztic and and the sides of the picture were bent in.
And why wouldn't you hold much hope if I couldn't redo the connectors? I'm not some fucking arcade genius, for one I don't have the plastic connectors that went to it and my jamma harness has different colored wires than my old one so I can't even use that as reference.

the second link shows you your pinout on the jamma harness
n,12,p,13,14 are you vid wires

they run to a molex plug that hooks to the pins on the monitor
the first three on the plug are r,g,b then ground, and + or - sync
it depends on the monitor
got a pic of the monitor chassis

just gotta be paitent working on this stuff takes time and research and an open mind step back smoke a joint and relax then get back to work
getting frustrated just causes more fuckups to happen

They both look like MAME cabinets to me..

This isn't an easy hobby. You may be better off buying a MAME setup from someone.

I meant as in It would cost me a fucking fortune to get a monitor shipped to where I live. I can't buy one locally. No klov members live around here. How do they both look like mame cabinets? I happen to like my cocktail, if you think it looks like that all the time it doesn't. I'm cleaning and painting some things. People like you piss me off, don't make assumptions if you don't know jackshit.
