To keep or not to keep...argh that is the question.

Starwars cockpit. I wanted the game forever. I finally dropped the money to buy one.

It has the ESB kit and the larger ampliphone monitor. Works great. Looks pretty good. It took me 10 years to get one and I am into it for as much as I will likely be able to sell it for.

Before I make a decsion on this does anyone know what the current price
for a decent machine is? I also have an extra working boardset for it.

My enthusiam for the hobby seems to be tapering off quickly. It happen to coincide with finally getting this holy grail. Anyone else go through this? There are 10-12 games I won't part with for sure, but oddly my long sought after SWC doesn't seem to be one of them.

Interested in opinions.. Has anyone else gone through this kind of a spot in collecting.

Up to you dude. If you or whoever else lives with/near you plays the shit out of the game then I say keep it. Otherwise sell it off, but from the sounds of it if it was a game you've wanted forever you'll prolly be better off keeping it. The moment you sell it is the moment you'll think "damn I wish I kept it"

In this hobby a lot of people fall into the LOOK AT ME!!!! trap.

Was star wars a grail of yours because the game is awesome, or because the nerds go crazy for it?

Stick to games you love to play and the hobby will be 10x better.

Whoa! A serious, substantial post... Who are you, and what have you done to Adamdiz?!

+1 to this...sometimes the thrill is in the chase of the "grail", and once you have obtained it it isn't as big of a deal anymore.

the upside is you won't have a problem getting back what you have into it.

I didn't think of this as a look at me post at all. I have a similar dilemma right now about which game to get rid of.

With me, it's more about how much others play the games when they come over because honestly, I don't go play them myself normally unless I have a group of people here. Life is just too busy most of the time. I suck at most of them actually.

But....Star Wars is one I'm pretty good at. I can play for a long time on a single game and then I'm done for a while. But when I have people over it gets a ton of play. So it's a keeper for me for sure. I don't even usually show them that it can play ESB though because that game blows giant chunks.

In my opinion, if you're just wishy washy on it, the game is way too expensive to keep unless you just have to have it. No way I could spend that kind of money on one. Even if you get it cheap, just the fact that you could sell it for big cash would keep me from keeping it, unless it was just my absolute favoirte game, and it doesn't seem like it is to you.

Yeah I'd sell that bitch if I were you. My biggest acquisition after tron was kozmik krooz'r, and it took me acquiring and getting rid of two discs of trons (1 environmental and 1 chopdot) and I don't regret it for second.

The game also gets a lot of love when people come over... But that's holidays and special occassions.

I think most of the comments above fit. It is not a look at me thing. It was a game I pumped a load of quarters into as a kid. I still remember the lines when it first came to the Land of Oz. I hounded a fellow collector to sell this game for years; and then out of the blue he said he was ready to sell it.

After hearing some opinions I guess I should just consider the game money in the bank. It's not likely to fall out of favor quickly, and I imagine I'll get close to my investment +/- a little if I ever need to unload.

Maybe I'll get the bug again, and hindsight is a witch when it might take another 10 years to find one within a 100 miles again.

Yeah, I'd think it will have value for a looooong time to come. Especially now with Disney on track to release a new Star Wars movie every 6 months or whatever they are doing.

But one thing...if it breaks then the value will drop substantially. Unless you know how to repair the thing yourself, repairs can get spendy.
