To hack a Clean NOS Burgertime CPO or not?

When I 48 in 1ed a BT for my brother in law, I tried to be as tasteful as I could with the extra button placement. I know the white buttons belong in the other holes, but it made more sense to me that black = pepper and white = salt. LOL!
If the repro buttons were done I would have gotten some of those for it, but this was a few years back.

I do plan to do a 2nd run of these soon
Im getting caught up on some past due projects and next up is Jungle king Cpo
So then Ill start a 2nd run of the Bts
so Id estimate around christmas at the earliest when these will be avaiable again.

That being said theres no subsitute for NOS and would estimate it would fetch at least $100
if it were really NOS. which is around what I paid for mine.
How to tell? Black adhesive backed and there is a heat bent seam for the fold over on the top. the Repros from both Aracde renovations, MameMarquees, and Myself didnt use this type.

I ceraintly wouldnt hack an NOS piece for a muti cab and would take previous advise of modifying the art and having something custom printed from MameMarquees.

hmmmmm I'll have to look at that. It has a white non-stick tape, but if it's not black, I wonder if it's an old repro? When you say heat bent seam, you mean it's pre-folded and has been heat treated to stay in a "L" shape?

It's very well done, has trademark symbol and all. Even if it proves to be non-NOS, I only paid $25 for it...

Awesome Rich, I look forward to buying a few when you start making them again.

Here is a NOS Burgertime CPO versus a REPRO silk screened CPO done by Arcade Renovations about 10 years ago. You can see the NOS CPO on the left has the pre-folded edges on the top and bottom about 3/4" from the edge. The REPRO silk screened CPO on the right does not have these.

Also, the left hot dog guy in the NOS piece has the "shiny" white area on his lower body. This is missing in the repro. And, the bottom burger bun on all the burgers has a white "shiny" horizontal area in the repro, but not in the original.

The repro is still very nice and very difficult to differentiate from the original if you dont have the original CPO present.

Hmmm. I'll have to check it for those graphics flaws tonight. So what would be the value of it if it were an arcade renovations repro? If not that much, maybe I will hack it! Step drill in hand!!! :)

There is also a possibility that the Arcade Renovations reproduction was done off of a different revision of the CPO. I know that has been the case in the past with many differences pointed out with reproductions.

You'd still get $50 or $75 for it I'm sure if it were a silk screened reproduction done by Arcade Renovations.

I'd pay this much.

Why dont you wait until Rich reproduces them and purchase one of those for less?

I probably will. By the time he does them, I'll be ready to install it. I am still doing prep repairs on the cab as I haven't painted it yet.

I did find that it is a repro... The dog on the left is missing the 'sheen'... :(

Rich, this is great news. Thanks for posting something definitive.

You can go ahead and just ignore the e-mail that I sent you, as I was asking the same question that you have answered in this thread.

W00t! Bring on the Burgertime CPO's!!!!!

Ok, to close this thread, I have realized I have a non-NOS CPO and therefore it's not the prize possetion it could be. With that, I have plans to cut holes in it for a 4 position CPO including 9 buttons per player with trackball, spinner, bike handle bars, and steering wheel. It should fit.

Kidding!
