To Arms, KLOVers!! To Arms!! Forum Wars...

The guy on the other forum had a concern that people posting solutions didn't fully grasp the problem.

On his Missile Command trakball-
While HOLDING ONE OF THE ROLLERS STATIONARY, and quickly spinning the other one, the up/down movement tracks perfectly.

Again, while HOLDING ONE OF THE ROLLERS STATIONARY, and very slowly spinning the other one, the cursor shows a small amount of left/right drift even though that axis isn't spinning.

So, the solution MAY be to replace the rollers and bearings, but I can see why he didn't jump on that answer.

Thinking back, didn't he say he had new rollers in there at one point and it still happened?

Oh- and if they're cracking on klov forums, they've never read rgvac through a newsreader..

I don't think I've seen that forum before. However, after clicking on the link to it by the OP, I don't think I'd bother with that forum. I like it here. :)

So the site owner of CAG (Alpiger) has a problem with this place?

I guess if I was running some third rate forum dedicated to arcade gaming and such I'd have a problem with this place too........;)

BTW - Who cares what someone says on a forum that gets maybe a couple dozen posts a day... at most? Seriously. That forum's probably gotten more activity today from THIS POST than it's had since it was put up.

Dude talkin' shit is like a Mexican ice cream peddler bitching about Baskin' Robbins...

I vaguely remember the thread that caused the rucus. My only contribution to this discussion is that there are people that don't understand the advice they are given and there are those who are incapable of understanding the advice they are given.

You can form your own opinions of which category the subject of the original post falls into.

When it is all over and done, I will still have in my possession....

A RAM Controls MC Trackball and roller set, in unopened condition.

Sounds, to me, about as close as it can get on an outright declaration of forum war... What side of the line are you going to be on? Are you an asswipe or a...?

This recent (below in bold) and of topic post was made by CAG Admin. over there. This is kind of the end result of a thread where I'm doing nothing but trying to help another member on an MC repair problem... Repair Thread

I learned a couple of years ago what asswipes there are over at the KLOV forums. And, worse than that, the moderation is nonexistent, from what I can tell. Thus, I basically post nothing over there, and recommend that everyone else do the same. That's the best way to handle places that don't do a good (or even tolerable) job.

"Respect here is much better, due to good moderation (even tho, amazingly to me, some still think the moderation isn't what it should be), plus the community not tolerating troublemakers, and disrespectors (OK, not a word... but it should be !).

That guy sounds like the kind of nerd that used to get his ass kicked in school all the time, so now he has a slight bit of power over a free-to-subscribe web forum, and thinks he's important. Since I have no clue what forum you're even talking about, I doubt he's as important as he thinks he is. Notice I also don't know his name... but I can tell he's a guy, because it's impossible for a female to be THAT big of a bitch.

Sorry, if you think it is rough here you have never been on http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/

Yeah, those guys are the king assholes of the arcade world. The users on that forum all die off before they turn 30 from all the stress and shit all that anger causes. Horrible, Horrible people on that forum, lol. All over a bunch of half-ass SNK games that will never be classic and were cutting edge in 1992. WTF?

What part of that isn't true ?

Much of it.

There are asswipes everywhere -- it's part of operating on a public forum. Try dealing with the public and not having asswipes pop up. Ain't gonna happen.

The moderation is light here but very much present. That's just how I'd like it to be -- sweep away the worst of things but leave the other stuff. I (and apparently many others) do not want heavy moderation!

The guy's certainly entitled to his opinion -- I think KLOV does a really good job at serving its audience.

I don't think the community here tolerates troublemakers much either. I don't think massive and continuous moderation will make for a very enjoyable place either, but that's just my $.02.

I for one welcome the variety of opinions here even if some of them are sometimes "disrespectful" or a little harsh. I'm a grown-up -- I can take it.
