What part of that isn't true ? Besides, you conveniently left out what that response was to.
This is what the OP said to provoke that statement :

best quote from klov regarding my problem

'The guy is a moron, and is not going to get anywhere with his problem. I can fix his problem, but with his level of stupidity I would have to charge more than the game is worth to fix it"

Ask a few simple questions and get s&it on...Big thanks

Damn, if you think KLOV has too many sub-forums, don't go look over there......

Most of the time, there are a few exceptions, I love the 100% brutal honesty on this forum. Don't blow smoke up my ass, if I did something stupid to one of my games, or say something stupid I deserve to get called out. I appreciate every last one of you asswipes!

I stand by my post. The guy has been given the answer several times over, and still doesn't get it. In my book that makes him a "Moron".

I hate to say it, but as a newcomer I see his point. I'd rather PM a help question to a KLOV user who appears friendly than post it publicly. I'm worried about how hard I'm going to get slammed for my ignorance. I don't mind people being frank with me, but I'm not sure it's in the best interest of the hobby to publicly mock people who are honestly seeking information. And it does happen.

This forum is such an incredible repository of information it's a shame when some of the top users treat newcomers like garbage.

That said, some people do have it coming, that's for sure. Every forum has posters who are looking for trouble.

Listening goes a long way.

One person says... you have bad trackball rollers and bearings

Second person says... you have bad trackball rollers and bearings

Poster responds with... I cleaned the optics but it was a little sketchy and it didn't help at all. Anybody know where I can get new optics?

So, yeah I am an asswipe. At least I am not a Moron with a broken game.

(A) Yeah, Dokerts response was a little over the top and I can see why he went there bitching.

(B) Marks response was pretty appropriate considering the response the OP got here.

(C) I suspect BOTH guys balls never dropped.

(D) I now know why I've not been approved over there. :)

Whoa I have to agree there. Even a separate forum for "name that game?" :001_ssuprised:

I think I've seen that forum once before. No offense to them or any other forums, but to me KLOV took up the mantle from RGVAC as less people started posting there. Combine that with the integration with VAPS and there you go.

I agree with D , now I know why I haven't been approved over there , and I probably never will .

Well Marks response was talking about a few years ago and back then it was crazy around here . There was no Mods and a gang of posters would show up in your thread , usually lead by Phet , and tear you apart . Some people find it funny , some people run away crying . I found it funny so thats why I'm still around . But its WWAAAAYYYYY more tame these days . If Mark showed up now he'd find everything nice and peaceful .

I check and enjoy both forums daily, and they are both a really different vibe. Restoration and repair is a big focus here, gameplay and scoring is the primary focus there. I appreciate both forums for what they offer I'd never want to alienate myself at either place (or any of the MAME forums for that matter).

If the guy doesn't want to take your advice, even if its correct, whats the point of taking it so personally? He's the one suffering for it. <shrug>

See this is where I differ from anyone timid. I'll post here, if I need help with something.

I get a response from someone that's just being a jerk? Why are you posting in my thread then? I have no problem telling anyone here or elsewhere, to kindly fuck off if they're like that.

Now the problem lies in not LISTENING to actual help given to you. I've seen plenty of cases on here, where legitimate help is offered only for the OP to be a dumbass in their responses to said help. At that point the OP can "kindly fuck off".

You're not perfect yourself. I've seen you give the wrong advice plenty of times like it was gospel.

If we're breaking balls we might as well be equal opportunity.

Sounds like this is a better opportunity to make up instead. :D

I honestly expected far more forum wars than I've seen. Which is nice. I'm a nerd, and I've grown up with nerds and know that some of them, when unleashed upon the internet, can become fairly caustic. For the most part, though, this forum has been the bomb - helpful, smart, and friendly people, with only a little bit of bitchiness here and there. I think the eccentrics outnumber the PITAs here, and that's what I was hoping to find when I joined.

In true geek fashion, however, there was an angry - yes, angry - response in one of the "TRON: Legacy" threads about the directors not adhering to some fairly obscure scientific law or some such, which I found to be hilarious.

"Boy, I sure hope someone got fired for that..."

(I guess sometimes we can't help ourselves.) ;)
