So after picking up the TMNT from Phet awhile back I soon realized that there isnt much out there to customize data east pins. Everything seems to be for newer sterns. I contacted pinball topper about their speaker light kits and if anyone ever put one on a data east.....

So the big problem is that data east welds the screw to the speaker frame and its not long enough to add the light. I bought coupling nuts, threaded them into the screw, and then screwed the screen and speaker into the nuts. Shown in the last pic.

The final hurdle was power.
I rewired the service outlet to power only when switched on. Since there isnt 12v I used the plug to power an old laptop power supply that was 12v and had the same connector for the LED module box.

Right now I have the lights set to a slow fade. I am hoping to make my own with colors that I pick myself. The nice thing is that you can also dim the leds with the remote if they get too distracting or turn them off completely.

Really cool, I think it works great with that pin. I wouldn't do it on my ST:TNG as the speakers are the doors on the bridge and the DMD is the viewscreen.
