My TMNT Pinball would not start up today. It worked fine last night and when I went to turn it on this morning to play a game the power came on lighting up the lights but . The display has a random scattered pattern on it and the speakers have a humming noise coming from them. I do not hear any of the relays kicking on when the power comes on and i have checked all of the fuses on the game board that I could see.

I have zero experience working on pinball and was wondering if anyone could point me in a direction in trying to fix the problem. I am guessing the closest repair place is around 80 miles from where I live so I am going to have to try and fix it myself

Thanks in advance

TMNT wasn't that a song by AC DC? I might be able to help if I knew what TMNT meant.

Pass on this one - TMNT is pretty universally know from movies, cartoons, comics, and games. It isn't really a pin acronym more than it is a well known shorthand.

DUDE TMNT has been abbreviated like that for YEARS, DECADES even.

Have you ever heard of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Seeing as you collect arcade games I would think you would know what TMNT was.

If you don't like the abbreviations don't post about them, we all know you hate them. Did you have something constructive to add?

Anywho... I agree with reading Clay's guides, you will find a wealth of info there. I'd post more but most sites are blocked at my work. It sounds like a power issue to me.

Hey Tough Guy are you kidding me? If you don't like that I don't like abbreviations don't post about it. Do you have anything constructive to add? See I can do that too. Yes I know What TMNT means and some other abbreviations, but the least a person could do if they are looking for help is type the full name of the machine out at least once in their post. If you have any other problems with me PM me and I'll give you my phone # and we can talk about it.

LOL. I guess I'm the only one that gets sick of seeing you complain about acronyms. It's old and I think everyone else feels the same.

Why would I waste my time calling you over something like this? I think you are the one trying to be a tough guy.

I did give something constructive. Check the power supply. So now you know which pinball machine it is. What do you suggest?

I thought the pinball forum was all about peace and love :(

It is... I'm done... if Gordonfan wants to comment on every post with an Acronym I won't complain again, I said what I wanted and I feel better :)

I do agree with one thing though; putting the full name of the game in the title of the post is a good idea.

I haven't had time to work on it yet. The link to the repair guide looks like it will help a bunch. I was figuring it was a low voltage issue but I wasn't sure if there was anything that was a problem on DATA EAST pinballs. Thanks

Looks like the connector after the transformer wasn't making good contact pulled it apart to check the transformer and when I put it back together it turned on...

Awesome! Now replace those connectors.
