Apparently I'm a ruh-tard? How to you put the PCB in free play?

There is definitely no free play on TMNT. Konami didn't include Free Play until Sunset Riders came out.

What about The Simpsons? Was that before or after Sunset Riders?

I don't think any of the Konami 4P games have free play unfortunately. I know X-Men doesn't.

There are mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it's annoying to have to coin up every time you want to continue. On the other hand, playing the game through with unlimited lives can get boring really fast.

Though, I'm guessing you're setting this up more for the kiddies who could care less about challenge/replay value and would just like to beat the game.

But do you really want to teach your kids that they can just take the easy road to accomplishment? :D

Simpsons and Turtles in Time were the last two not to have Freeplay. Sunset Riders and everything after ie: X-Men, GI Joe, Bucky O'Hare, etc. all have a freeplay option.

I'm pretty sure X-Men doesn't. At least the 4P version. Unless I completely missed it in the settings menu. But it didn't give me the option when I cycled through the coin-up options.

My X-Men definitely has one, it's even listed in the manual http://www.crazykong.com/manuals/Xmen.man.pdf

Apparently, there were different versions of the PCB. According to the manual, you must have the "Common Coin Mechanism" version which has free play. I don't know what version I had, but I didn't have that free play menu option. I wonder if this applies to all Konami 4P games?
