Anyone know what a totally gutted TMNT cab would go for? It still has the coin doors on it but all the art, monitor and PCB are gone. The entire cabinet has been painted black. The structural integrity of the cabinet looks decent though.

Thanks... I was maybe thinking about getting it, but the guy will probably ask like $150-200. I'll have to ask him next time I go see him and see what he'd sell it for.

It was buried behind a bunch of games so it was hard to get a real good look at it, but supposedly it was the original CP. When I looked at it though only 2 of the players were populated and they had 6 buttons for each player so someone drilled extra holes in the CP. The 2 players it did have wired up were not the original joysticks/buttons either.

Honestly unless you really want a full on project, I would hold out for something that has a little more going for it.

Dang. 3 bills for an empty cab. Guy is dreaming. It was definitely not a TMNT, though because is has stereo speaker holes. Simpsons or X-men most likely.

Yea, his prices are kinda rough... nice guy though I enjoyed bs'n with him when I drove over to his shop. I may try to buy some other cabs from him if he's willing to come way down on his prices.

4 player Konami Cabinet

These are fun games to rebuild. With the control panel not having some golden tee trackball you are better then most ha ha. The art looks painted over, but I have yet to strip the paint and find tolerable artwork on a konami cab. The seller looks like he has some other games. I would try and negotiate the cabinet with at least a complete monitor. Even if you can get a complete monitor for the game you could save a lot rebuilding the monitor. Game board and new artwork will set you back a bunch. That will be the biggest part of your expense. Then add 4 sets of controls a new power supply some kick harnesses and what would be a considerable amount of time.

Negotiate price of cabinet with a complete monitor working or non
assuming the $300

$50- flyback, cap kit with hot
$300 - nice full art set (sides, cpo, marquee)
$300 - konami game boardm (turtles, simpsons, xmen)
$15 - per joystick and you need 4 ($60)
$2 - per button and you need at least 8 ($16)
$50 - lexan
$35 - kick harnesses or misc wiring
$50 - paint bondo (you will have leftover, but lets assume its your first big buy)
$20 - new power supply
$20 - wiring harness (it may be easier to put a new one in then used a hacked one)
$30 - T-molding (you need about 25 feet)

You are welcome to show the guy the list of parts and cost- if he is selling on ebay show him ebay prices on game boards. I find that reasoning works very well. Most people want to be part of the rebuild, promise him pics when its done. Try to ask for the cabinet for $200 or less with a complete non working monitor. When your done you will have a very sweet looking game. And the better you get the less they cost.
