I'm restoring a williams machine that has a colored spot for the copyright symbol with a decal place on it. I could paint the spot and make a new copyright decal. That would be very true to the original. But, i don't think it helps with the aesthetics nor was it part of the artists view of the final product. What do you all think? Leave off the marks for the beauty or put em on for accuracy?

Id leave them off. But thats just me. If youre going for a full blown restoration, Id make a new symbol.

I think it really comes down to you. I know when I redrew the art work for my gaplus marquee I left off the original artists signature, it felt like I was forging his work if I did that. Also I changed it a little to clean it up.

Thanks all,
I think the stickers could be made with one of those waterslide decal kits. I am leaning pretty hard to leaving them off though. The machine I'm working on now is a gift for a friend, and i think he would be happier with the aesthetics, more so than the accuracy. Those legal stickers weren't in the artists original vision anyway.

I like to keep it as close to original as possible so if the original had them, I keep them. I put them on my Robotron when I restored it. (pRok includes these with his stencils)
