TL-866 Mini Pro Software...

There is a small project here that you can follow to program a 68HC705C8, perhaps you can use it as a starting point…

I think the Galep 4 will also do the C8A.

Parism, I might try and build that one kit on a breadboard. Is there a difference between the 68HC705C8 vs the 68HC705C9. To my untrained eye, there is no difference programming wise. So both should be able to be programmed by the kit if built correctly and not encrypted by the manufacturer.

TY for the help everyone!

Before you start on this, I would download the specific data sheets, I am not sure if any differences apply to the programming. But, please check before doing this as it is a lot of work!

Also, I presume you have a source for the ICs themselves?

BTW, have you tried reaching out toe Steph at hobbyroms.com? He has a lot of programmers and he may be able to do this for you.

Yes... but not really... Overseas.

It's a vending board that many guys need an updated eeprom for cashless. No typical suppliers have them anymore. I do have the latest eprom that is the one I need to duplicate. I was hoping to offer a service of customers sending their board to me for an update.

I'll try steph at hobbyroms

Yes they do get erased... it's just done electrically, not by UV light.

From my experience, not sure with this programmer or other, it would not allow "erase". FAIL
If I wrote all FF, that would work. If I just simply reprogrammed with another file, that would work too.
So, perhaps a more YMMV depending on device, software and programmer?

Regardless, I don't recall ever not being able to eventually get a 28C16 to be written.
The same is not true for old 2716.

Of all the programmers I own, I would claim the TL866 is the most usable, consistent and reliable. ----->>>> YMMV :)
