I've got a couple of Daytona cabinets that I'm restoring, but the arcade/P.Os had stickers on them which they did a horrible job of taking off. So, I've got half stickers in a few areas of the cabinet and marquee.

Any tips for taking them off without scratch/damaging the original cabinet decals and decoration?

I've found Naptha to be pretty good at removing sticker residue without damaging the art underneath. There are other stronger solvents out there but they usually aren't plastic safe.

The citrus stuff also works pretty well, but seems slower.

As always, test in an inconspicious spot and make sure your art doesn't get damaged by the solvent.

WD-40 works good, but I have been sold lately on a product called Sticker Shock at Pep Boys....worked great on everything I tried so far.

Gotta go to Walmart to pick up some bulbs for it anyhow, so I'll see if I can get some GooGone while I'm there. I think they sell Naptha in the sports area too (camp fuel I think?) so if they don't have any goo stuff I'll pick up a small container of that.
Thanks!

Back in the 80's I used to work at a furniture store. We used peanut butter to remove stickers/labels from polished furniture. (not the crunchy kind) The oils in the peanut butter are gentle but effective at removing many adhesives.

LOL.. thats interesting - the oils are the solvent, and the solids a very mild abrasive....

I've used regular vegetable oil to dissolve glue from those awful glue type bug traps...

Probably tastes better than Goo-Gone too :p

Everybody's got WD-40 laying around, works great. Even makes it shiny, lol.

BTW, I once had a "Super Chexx" that I was cleaning up, and it had some residue on the plastic dome. So, I thought "well, I better get some goo-be-gone", went to lowes, picked some up, went home, sprayed it on the dome, it completely ruined it and started eating through the damn thing. It wasn't "goo-be-gone", it was "Goof-off" which is some STRONG SHIT. DO NOT put "Goof-off" on anything plastic. Hell don't put it on anything, I would have been better off trying to burn the sticker off than use that crap.
