TIPL751 Voltage Regulator Needed for Hantarex Monitor - Chassis mounted

I need a TIPL751 Voltage regulator for a Hantarex 19" Chassis. Anyone have one for sale? New or Pull from chassis would be fantastic!

Thanks.

saw that

Saw that. The only thing is there is no pic and I worry if this will be a TO-3 Package (metal casing) or regular transistor style. A pull from a chassis would be good if someone has one available. I checked your crosses. Unortunately, none available. But, thanks for the help.

ah, sorry i could not be much help, i see what you mean no pic and putting in a to-3 one is far to much messing about.

i used to repair crt tvs back in 80's and 90's and i would be inclined to put a bu508 in its place as that has better ratings, but it has to be one that doesnt have built in protection diodes like the AFI version. insulated tab ones are available too, but they tend to get hotter so may not be the best choice. i remember doing that with tpil something numbers and ferguson r2008 transistor (or some number like that) cannot quite remember now!

bu508 = much cheaper!

cheers

Thanks Guys

I do have a Bu508 here but it's not the TO-3 package type. It's the regular transistor version. I wonder if I could get this to work. If I mount this BU508 to the chassis with a mica insulator and runs some where's to the E B C, it should work right?

yes should be just fine, again i remember doing just that when bu208 to-3 ones were phased out and only had bu508 regular ones.

i have just looked on a hantarex 9000 chassis i have here and it has the to-247 package not the to-3 so must be a later version, so yes go for it! i used bu508 many times in power supplies as its faster than power supply transistors

just rember to make sure the tab is insulated! i think you know it but just a reminder, (soz)

cheers
