Hi guys!

So I'm working on my Taxi. Today's problem is when I turn the game on the bell immediately starts ringing and won't stop. I turn it off before a fuse blows or the coil burns out. Marvin.com says you should replace the transistor with a TIP 102 (NTE 2343). I went out to get some today and the bag it comes in states it's an audio amp driver.

I found this page online: http://www.nteinc.com/specs/2300to2399/pdf/nte2343.pdf and it states it's a power amp. This transistor controls the coil so I'm confused by the audio thing. Anyone have some insight? Am I worrying over nothing and should just use it?

It can be used for several applications:

power amplifier

audio amplifier

switching power

In your case you are switching power to a coil. This transistor will be fine.

99.9% of the time the NTE cross reference is accurate.

That's what I figured but I have a tendency to over analyze. Thanks a bunch Ken!
