Part 1 - Replace the 2N6055 on the power supply in Tail Gunner II.
Looks not to bad to get out - unplug the game, disconnect 2 connectors, and then remove for button head cap screws to remove the power supply from the cabinet.
It looks hard to get to the sub-board the 2N6055 is soldered to. Has anyone taken this on?
Part 2 - The 2.2k Resistor change at R74 did a wonderful job of cutting the volume to a much better level. However, this has muted the "rumble" effect more than I had wanted - it's there, but almost inaudible.
The circuit is shown on the left side of the schematic labeled (as poorly as the board is labeled, the schematic is clear)
RUMBLE. The "rumble) starts at a 7406, which is a bi-polar inverter with an open collector output, which then goes to Q4 which is a 2N3906 PNP silicon transistor.
The Emitter of Q4 has a +5 VDC line coming in through R40 which is a 68K resistor
The collector of Q4 has R43 which is a 560K resistor.
The base of Q4 is tied to ground with R46, which is a 330 ohm resistor.
I think if I reduce the resistance of R43 I can raise the output level of Q4, and make the rumble louder.
Can someone check my work?
