It seems to me that I spend way more time on here that I do actually playing my vids/pins. I probably play around 2 hours in a week on average. Some of my games I've never actually played (I just realized I have a Viewpoint MVS cart, I've only tested SF2, etc). I keep telling myself that I need to learn the ways of Tron and DK, but I never get around to it. I Know I can't be the only one who is like this, right?

I think this works for any hobby really....do one thing too often and it get's old fast.

Yeah, that's for sure. I think if I had a bigger collection I'd spend a lot more time with them, bouncing from game to game. But right now I only have one, so I play a round or two, then feel like migrating but there's nothing to migrate to.

Arcade games aren't like console or PC games which are intended to be played for hours on end. You play a credit or three on one game, then move to another. If you want to spend six hours credit-feeding Defender, there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but that's not what the developers had in mind.

My problem is that I like mid 90's games that end fast. I went through a bunch of money and time just to get the components for a working Surf Planet, and when you play through all 4 stages, it takes 10-15 minutes tops.

I do need to go back to Blitz 2000 since I was playing it pretty hardcore and got up to 20 teams beat (out of 31). The problem is that once I beat it, then I might play it pretty much never, but have it around "just in case".

Oh well, I am also a console game collector as well, and I have at the very least 200-300 games that I own that I have not even tested to see if they even work, so a few arcade pcb's laying around is not that big of a deal I guess

You have to add in the time you spend just looking at how cool they look and just feeling the good feeling of having them. And all the little fixes n stuff.

Sure, i spend more time on the boards than playing them.

But my playing time has increased considerably over the last few months - only because - i have been trading to games that i actually play! Finally, getting to a point of utopia - games that i + my kids play.

I think thats the key - at least for me - was finding the right ones. Whats playing them? In a 4 pin / 5 pin vid line up now, i spend about an hour a day enjoying them (and NOT working on them!).

I was also surprised to find that the games i "knew" i was going to play i never did, and games i never thought i would play i end up spending the most time on.

There is one game in the line up (that shall remain nameless) that hasnt been getting attention - so my first thought is the chopping block. Must resist that thought (for now.....).

I find that I'll be on a kick for playing a certain game. For whatever reason, I've been playing lots of Capcom Bowling lately after going several months without playing it.

If I wasn't married with kids, I'd play these games way more.

Actually, nevermind. If I were single I'd be out trying to get fucked all the time.

Yep, this hobby would be the same as it is now. No playing, and no fucking.

Honestly, I play only a handful of mine. Having that said, I do play GT at least a couple hours a day.
