First off, keep in mind I am a total electronics newb. The most I have done is wiring up joysticks and a cap kit.
Well, I have posted here before regarding and issue with the sound on my Time Soldiers conversion. Every time I played the game, the sound effects (like shooting and death screams) worked fine, but the music sounded completely garbled. I thought the problem was resolved when I popped in a new speaker. Indeed, the sound did work 100% for a few days. But then it went back to being garbled again, even with a new speaker.
Like I said, the weird thing is that the sound effects work fine, but the background music is what is messed up.
So my question is: Could faulty grounding have anything to do with this problem? I was reading the Time Soldiers manual, I found this pinout diagram that I added some colors to:

There are a total of 8 grounding wires listed, but my machine only has 2 that are connected to anything. The box (wire) colored green is connected to GND on the switching power supply, and the box colored blue is connected to one of the buttons. The other 6 boxes colored red are simply wires that have been cut off at the harness or that come out but are not connected to anything.
Any help or advice would be appreciated!
