I'm getting a pretty constant low frequency hum on my TP, I have a brand new replacement speaker, but am I right in thinking that its most likely not the speaker, but something electrical.

Hi.

The buzz in the Speaker is usually AC that doesn't belong there. :)

Is the Earth Ground (the third wire) on the receptacle, and is the game properly grounded?

Has the game always done this?

What type of Monitor does it use? If It's an Electrohome G07, make sure it's using an Isolation Transformer.

This is usually a bad ground or a bad Decoupling Cap(s) either on the Main Board, or in the Audio section of the Main Board.

Hope this helps!

I'm having the same issue with my Rampage cab...
Bumping for more help.

Changed power supply
Grounded power supply/ groung prong was missing/ replaced with brand new power cord.
Used alligator clipped wire to try grounding at different spots all over the PCB, amp board

Still getting a low pitched hum. Btw, the hum is a constant low to medium volume regardless if I turn the volume all the way up or not. The game sounds will increase, but the hum stays constant.

Not trying to hijack the thread- just seems we are experiencing the same issue.

Hijack away, if we can both find the solution then that would be awesome, I'm wondering if a cap kit might solve the issue, my only problem with that is having to do any sort of soldering.. i'm awful at it!

Now my plug HAS a 3rd prong, but it looks like the cable has been repaired, and there is no guarentee the groundwire is actually attached,. I'm goign to try and check on that tomorow, when i've had a little less to drink, Wine + Electricity = Ouch...
