some times when playing game and ball drains.the game willnt kick out next ball i did a switch test all check good also made sure diodes were connected as should be.some times i can play 2 games no problem.any help or ideas would be appreciated thanks

i would say no,but this is what happens.ball drains then the out hole kicks it into the trough lane that it then the game searchs for it.

yes i roll them in one at a time, then it goes like 10,11,12 or what ever the switch number were

Its been a while since I worked on a Time Machine. Does the solenoid that moves the ball into the shooter lane have that crescent moon shaped finger that pushes the ball out or is there a lift mech like newer pins? I've seen that finger get stuck on the #1 switch blade so it doesn't go all the way back down after it shoots a ball into the shooter lane. When that ball drains none of the other balls are lined up right so the game gets confused and does a ball search. As soon as the finger drops it seems to be OK.

Also, if the shooter lane switch is no good the game might lose track of the balls.

Love that game BTW. Used to crank the hell out of the machine in the arcade back in the day! I loved the game over music!

I once had a Back to the Future that would do the same thing...it turned out to be an intermittant ball trough microswitch...it worked fine most of the time. Try a switch test with no balls in it...and then repeatedly, hitting one micro at a time over and over to see if you can locate it.
Also, I suggest you remove the logic board and reflow solder over ALL the switch line imputs (16 points)...as a cracked solder pin can do this too. You SHOULD reflow ALL the solder pins on ALL the boards as a rule anyway! Todd
