I have a dual Time Crisis 3 arcade.
Its right gun works fine. However, when I try to initialize the left gun by aiming at crosshair on its test screen and pulling the gun's trigger the monitor picture flashes and an error comes up in red saying. "OUT OF SCREEN". I don't have any idea what that means as I am a novice for sure. I did try switching guns and it did the same thing and I tried increasing the monitor brightness with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? Your help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for your time!

Hi,
Sorry for the confusion.
I used the right gun that was working on its monitor, on the left monitor setup and it did the same thing.

Test the left gun on the right side. (I'm guessing it will work.)

Next, you'll have to test if it is the monitor or the game PCB. Switch the left/right monitors. (Do this by cable, not by actually moving them, unless you cables don't reach and you can't make an extension video cable.)

If you want to skip the above step due to lack of reaching/cable, look closely at both screens. If the left screen dimmer/right screen brighter? Try adjust the brightness on the left screen up. You should have brightness adjustment pots on the chassis and on the flyback. Try the chassis one first. If you adjust the flyback one up, turn the chassis one to the middle of its range first. (Flyback is major adjustment, chassis is minor adjustment.) This step may vary a little by monitor model, and is a general guide line.

Okay I'll try these ideas next. I have to work on the arcade in my spare time. I'll report back either way. Thank you.

I did what you said including reconnecting every connector and it worked.
I don't know what did it specifically,(I wish I did), but it is now working.
Thank you for taking the time to help me it was greatly appreciated by me and the kids!

If you don't mind me asking one more question - do you know how to change the two internal batteries in this arcade. Is it even possible and are batteries available somewhere?
Thank you again!

I'm going to guess you have a connector with weak contacts or corrosion and taking them on/off adjusted the position/cleaned the corrosion off enough to work again.

As for the battery, it is just a coin battery. But you have to be willing to take your PCB cage apart. Take lots of pictures before you open it up, to make sure you put it back together right. (I don't actually have a Time Crisis 3, so I can't give you more specific directions.)

I followed your directions and nervously took apart the PCB cages, found the batteries, replaced them and successfully put them back together and it worked. Taking pictures was a great idea. Your guidance and expertise is most appreciated as it gave me the confidence to give it a try. I can't thank you enough!

I'm glad to hear it went well.

We're here to help. This site has helped me many times and I'm glad I could return the favor to another.
