i find that interesting....was the Deluxe version of VN the same? I use to work at this arcade that had the DX version of VN and it used the same gun and set up at the Time Crisis 2 and 3. Not sure how the standard versions of the cabinet are wired/set up but i know the DX versions are all the same.

My Vampire night has Namco optical guns

Virtually the same as TC (mine did not have recoil)

Just FYI, maybe mine was "converted"

Looks the same as TC2/3 but Vampire Night really uses the same setup as Crisis Zone. Same camera up top behind the marquee and same I/O board (V221). TC2/3 use optical guns and the V185 I/O board.

Here is a pic of the I/O boards from my Crisis Zone and Vampire Night.

crisis zone I/O is the rays pcb, does not look nothing like the one you pictured...here is the I/O i took out of my crisis zone just recently....

I also owned the Standard size and the Deluxe size crisis zone before. Both were a pain in the behind to work with due to the camera setup.

I have had 4 Crisis Zone sets, all like this but perhaps the key difference is that all of my sets have been from Japan & US standard cabs. This VN setup is also from a Japan standard cab but the deluxe manual shows the same setup.

Also, interesting to note that MAME documentation has nothing on this RAYS I/O board. I think this may have been with the re-release of Crisis Zone on different hardware.

I think Shou is correct

I checked my game, when I saw the whole kit and I have the exact same.

I just hope the gun I bought works.

So, Shou, if I bought a namco gun that is exactly the same, it should work? Man, I truly hope so. (In the middle of a restoration)

Thank you for all your input, I had been looking for a conversion to some other gun game. Seems a waste of an awesome system to be one game.

If you have the same I/O board as what I have in the Vampire Night pic then Time Crisis 3 nor will a Time Crisis 3 gun work on your setup without more parts and wiring work.

At my place, I have a custom setup shared between Crisis Zone and Vampire Night since they have very similar wiring. Crisis Zone needs 3.3v though and has the pedal piece while Vampire Night is 2 player.
