Hi

i just changed the CR 2032 battery in both cabinets, so the Internal battery 01 error went away, but it is still showing Internal battery 02 error, someone know how to fix it ?

Thanks

I just had this last week. Here's the fix.

Check what version of the game computer rack you have. Search for NAMCO system 246. Look at the pictures to see which revision you have. I'm pretty sure you have a system 246 rev B.

If you have a 246 rev B, there is only one internal battery. To get rid of the battery02 is dead message, you need a PS1/PS2 controller and do the following:

- Take the PS1/PS2 controller and plug it in the game computer, just underneath the dongle (PS2 memory card).
- Power up the game and go into the test menu. You can use the PS1/PS2 controller to navigate the menus.
- In the test menu, select OTHERS.
- Under OTHERS, select the CDVD check. This function is not selectable without the PS1/PS2 controller connected.
- Under clock, set the date and time using the controller. Make sure you hit SET after.
- Restart the game. The message should be gone.

If you have a 246 rev A, I believe there is a second battery to replace.

Wow. Great information. Thanks for the effort to put it here. Repped

Thanks alot i will try this and is a type b yeah. So this will sure work 😀. Is thi also why i get Link error 01 ? Does someone have the meaning of the link errors codes used in the manual 01-03

No problem. I also had the Link error 01. Link error 01 means something is wrong with the game PCB or I/O PCB, which most of the time is just a wiring issue like a loose connector. Mine was due to a loose connector on one of the I/O boards inside the joining box. Here's what you should check:

1 - There's a 4 pin connector on each I/O board inside the joining box. Make sure it is connected properly. The connector on the Player1 side should have two wires and the one on the Player2 side should have 4 wires. Pins 1 and 3 connect to the footpedal. Pins 2 and 4 are used to determine the game ID (Player1 or Player2). The Player2 side has pins 2 and 4 shorted, which tells the game it is Player2. Player1 has these pins left open.

2 - Check that both IEEE 1394 cables are connected from the mini USB port to the repeater PCB inside the joining box. The mini USB port is located on the bottom left of the game computer. It is recessed about an inch inside, so it can be hard to locate. On the repeater PCB, both cable should be connected to the two ports that are side by side. The other port does not connect to anything.

Hi

Thanks again i try this, i was i contact with namco also and they told me that i can link the pc direct with a cable from the mini usb b to mini b, that only reapeter board was there because the lenght og the DLX cabinet. Have you tested this ?. On the menu on both sides says Link : OFF. are there somewhere to turn this on or will it fix it self if there is a wiring problem.

Thanks

I have not tested that, but yes connecting a mini USB directly between both games should work. Link OFF means that there is no communication between the game so fixing the wiring could make it work.

I'm not sure about this but you might be able to turn the link on and off in the test menu. I would try with a PS1/PS2 controller and see of you can change anything.
