These would most likely be printed solvent just like Rich is doing for the tapper art package so everything matches but rather than a sticker slapped over the tapper artwork we're looking into actually stitching and blending it all in so it looks like one full piece of art. Anybody interested in this project?

Ever wonder what the original color of tapper artwork was?

And here's a pic. of the timber art that came off in one piece

All I can say is WOW
I dont know what amazes me more Chris
those B-A-utiful Tapper colors
or the fact that you somehow always manage to remove a whole frickin piece of artwork
:D

Timeframe/price on this are a long way from being determined, hours and lots of dollars need to be spent before this even gets close to being printed. The timber sticker on the front looks like it's gonna come off just as easy so a full repro is definitely a good possibility.

I will admit - the faded art on mine has always annoyed me - and knowing there is no replacement decal for the front or sides has always kind of twisted the knife...

Agreed brother, the half ass slapping on of the lumberjack art really blows.

You could also make it just one big piece, Tapper artwork on the bottom and Timber on the top. Otherwise if someone had no artwork on there cab at all, they would need to buy the full Tapper artwork and then the Timber top and install both pieces (which I guess is what they did back in the day....). For that matter, you could come up with something much better looking for the bottom half. Maybe some tree bark and chains to better tie into the CPO.

We're looking at a couple different options with this but there is a bit of an originality factor here that needs to be considered as well even if the original look was slightly better than crap.

Option 1: With a bit of computer magic, the upper half of the artwork can be blended with the lower half and this would all be one piece. The way the sticker is now really sucks and was poorly done in my opinion as it should have bled off the cabinet. That being said, these were all finished cabinets with t-molding on em so they took the easy route.

Option 2: The upper half would be done in a sticker form just like it was but this time it will bleed.

Option 3: Something completely custom on the bottom half would be quite awesome looking as long as somebody else is doing it and i can just sit around and wait for it to be done in a timely manner and i don't want to pay anything for the art set when its all done. I'm already going out of pocket plenty of ching and a shitload of hours on this one.

Love to hear other peoples opinions.

With the typical fading of the Tapper art, as seen in your pick (almost turns a green) it would be nice to see a full piece.

May not be original, however, it would look better on a machine...

Agreed, the big assumption here is anybody restoring one of these machines would start with a base set of the new 3 piece tapper art like you have and put a seperate sticker on the upper half or with fancy computer work, the upper half (lumberjack) will be melded into the top and one full side piece will be created. This is a case where today's technology can create an artwork package that doesn't resemble an afterthought like the original did.

Yeppers! I would be interested in a set like that! :D

I would be interested in both pieces. I have the front sticker off of a Timber. I would say it is 90% in good shape. LMK

Time to bring this thread up again to see how many people are still interested. We've got some good ideas/options for this one and a repro package is getting close.

Is that art from that Timber that you picked up down here? I must have missed it, but why did you take it off? You didn't buy it just to strip it, did you?
