Hey guys. While restoring my DK cabinet, I noticed that the remnants of a tilt switch with two wires attached (but having been cut off at some point by a prior operator) was around the coin door lock. Looking through the wiring diagram in the manual, I see no place for that to actually attach.

How/where did the wires from the tilt switch go on a DK board? I'm trying my darndest to fully restore everything, but am a bit clueless on this one.

Nintendo never installed a tilt switch on their games that I'm aware of.

None of the Nintendo machines I own have them.

Sounds like a previously owner's mod but I don't know where it would even tie into.

Could it be to an alarm installed by a operator?
I have seen that on a game or two, if you open the coindoor an alarm goes off.

The one I sae had a key to turn it off prior to open the coindoor.

I have a dynamo showcase cabinet with a battery powered car alarm in it wired up to the coin door. Took me forever to figure out what the hell was going on with that one.

Okay, great. Thanks guys. I just wasn't sure if I needed to have it in there or not. Really couldn't figure out how it would be wired anyway. Heh.

Oh wow. That's very interesting. Yes, the colored wires they speak to now make sense. On my DK board, when I first got it, there was a wire soldered to the board that had been cut off in the middle for some reason. That must have been the slam switch being soldered as per the notice.

So this does not appear to be a factory installation, but more an optional thing for operators to install. I think I might just save the tilt-switch itself in case I ever decide to use it.
