I'm percolating a custom project for a sit down driving cab. Looking to do something motorcycle based.

Rather than buy and gut a sit down hang on or super hang on I'd rather try and get something fabricated but I am in need of pics and my google-fu has failed me.

Does anybody have technical drawings or good photos of the tilt mechs from either one of these machines? I'm guessing there is a geared pot with a tilt arm that attaches to a spring supported armature but I'd like something to work from before I start throwing money around.

I'm not averse to buying one that is a total wreck but I'd much rather not being as how those seem to be somewhat hard to come by and I have no plans to restore.

Thanks for the help if there is any to be had.

Found these on the net.. not the greatest shot of the pivot mechanism, but it gives you something to go on..

Seems to me (from the pictures) that this game pivots not only side to side, but also allows for a 'mono' or wheel-stand?

Hope it helps..

Thanks for the pics. I like the system on the super a bit better than the original hang on, seems a bit less bulk. To my knowledge SHO doesn't have forward to backward movement only side to side. Ditto HO.

I'm pretty sure I could build one but the trick will be finding the right springs to ensure a good return to center with a rider. I also would like my build to not require the riders feet to be on the platform so if I end up with an original I'll probably have to get stiffer springs anyway.

The difficulty would be varying weights of riders.. and maybe the fibreglassing :p

Make sure you keep us posted on your progress. I interested in scratch built stuff like this..

Awesome, is that your pic jcpLinux? Wouldn't happen to have another shot of the underside? I imagine there is a tilt arm and gearing for the pot tucked away in there somewhere. Thanks man. Pic is definitely worth a thousand words.

Indeed, it's mime ;).
Of course, I can take another pictures.

For the moment, I've got the following pictures too :

In order to have a look closer at the underside, I need to open the base of the cab.
However my cabs are not very close to me, so I need a little time to make another pictures.

I have a a lot of NOS parts for the ride on Hang On that will be on the site soon.
It may save you some trouble of having "one of's" made for the mechanical stuff.

jcpLinux - Merci! Ce serait formidable. Je ne suis pas pressé alors qaund tu as l'occasion.

Mylstar - I'll be interested in a rundown what you'll be offering, any estimation of when I should check back on the site or can I just watch this space?
