3 of the targets on my Firepower decided to stop working. The ramp spinner, 1 of the "Power" spot targets on the far right bank, and the rightmost of the 6 middle spot targets. I cleaned the leaf switches and looked for continuity and everything looks ok. They used to work just fine. What the hell?

welcome to the wonderful world of old pinball machines. :) I was at a friend's house playing pinball last night, and I started noticing little post-its on the games as the night went on. They were lists of problems to be fixed that developed as the night went on. My High Speed constantly needs adjusting. Look in the manual and see if they all go to the same spot on the board. Kinda weird for 3 different ones to go out at the same time if they are not connected somewhere, I think. Plan to spend a lot of time tweaking the game for a while. I left the glass off of mine for a while, because I got tired of taking it off all the time. Coils are obnoxiously loud without the glass though, so it is a catch-22.

I reseated all the switch-related harnesses on the driver board and I get no improvement. Could it be coincidental that all three of the diodes went out on those? How would I check?

those seem kinda random to be connected, but not impossible I guess. Did you adjust the leafs? when you cleaned them? lift up the playfield and see if the leafs are making a contact when you push on the target. Or just push the leafs together and see if it scores.

Ok, so now the switches decide to work. But now, the game wont start even if it is credited up. The switch test says the start button is being pressed, but it doesnt want to start the game.

Did you check the header pins on the driver board? It looks like all 3 switches are on Row 7 (WHT-VIO) on the switch matrix. That row also includes slam tilt, upper top right standup and playfield tilt. I would reflow the header pins. It could also be a PIA problem.
