Thread on RGP about Williams/Bally rights!

I've given up on newsgroups since Trollkiller does not work on the latest Firefox or IE8. I accessed through Google so the Trollkiller program is important to filter out the spammers and political/religious wackos from the messages.

" It has
been reported that a deposit has been received and Wayne is selling his
Williams/Bally rights to BAA.
"

Might be a good thing if it pans out :)

I've been in direct contact with Williams trying to obtain a list of IP holders to distinguish whom has rights to what. IMHO, Wayne Gillard is a first class jerk for his never ending quest to deter anyone from doing anything with B/W hardware. Wayne has promised for years to remake machines such as MM and has failed to do so. While he has been productive and succesfully supplied some artwork and hardware, my feelings stand as there is so much more he could've achieved especially since he had people willing to vectorize artwork for him and supply images. Wayne has threatned people for far too long and I'm hoping that juuuuuuusssst maybe me stepping in and contacting Williams with my concerns may have played a hand in this. :D

There is very little spam on RGP through google groups. At least that's been my experience.

Who did you contact and what did they tell you?

My guess is that he just sold the pinball.com domain but who knows. It would be nice to see BAA get the B/W licensing because they will do a LOT more with it, I'm sure.

I promised not to divulge the information and I'm a man of my word. Sorry but if/when the time comes that I can talk freely about it I certainly will.

Here's the e-mail I received:

This a message to inform you as a customer of the pinball.com store that a new company Planetary Pinball www.planetarypinball.com has acquired various assets of Mr. Pinball Australia - read more info on the agreement.

Most important is for you and orders on the store:

- ALL EXISTING ORDERS ARE VALID AND WILL BE SHIPPED

- WE MAY SHIP FROM EITHER PLANETARY PINBALL -OR MR. PINBALL AUSTRAILIA

- ANY ISSUES YOU HAVE ON ORDERS PLEASE COMMUNICATED THRU EMAIL TO [email protected]

We will continue to offer the SAME parts at pinball.com as there are today, and will be offering specials as well transfer fully the inventory, so we want to keep you as a satisfied customer. We are working hand-in-hand with Wayne from Mr. Pinball Austrailia and will strive to keep the orders flowing as we complete the transfer of the inventory, etc.

We will build upon what pinball.com has provided and will be interested in new parts that are needed to restore your games. We will also offer the best shipping. In the interim, parts may be shipped from Australia -or- the US, but with no cost impact to you.

Thanks for your continued business! and we look forward to providing more parts to restore your games!

Fun Fun,

Good stuff... This is the same Rick that owns Bay Area Amusements, right?

Yup!

Awww, yeah! Fuck Wayne! The Dickhead Dingo Douchebag is OUT of pinball FOREVER! Well, he'll still have a shitty used game store in Australia, but that doesn't affect us at all. I'm looking forward to see what Rick has in store for us.

The FAQ is pretty detailed and is actually informative. Not the usual three question/answer marketing fluff that is on a lot of sites.
